I had my intake/exhause shaved and there are still some pits on the exhause side... can't be shaved any further, so I was going to put some type of sealant with the gasket. Looking for suggestions.

What brand/type?

What temp does the exhaust manifold get up to typically? 1972 F engine.

I found stome stuff that is around 700 deg F intermittent rated. would that work?

Thanks for looking.

Use the Orange high temp silicone. I have used that on manifolds for years with no gaskets and never had a problem. I have used it on turbo charged diesel pulling trucks seeing high back pressure and 1500 degree EGT temps and all was good.

i have used the copper silicone with good results on my dirt bike , if i don't ride fast enough the header glows on it so i would think you would be alright using it on a landcruiser .

Remflex.

I have always used the RTV ultra copper in the 3 oz. tube. Takes about half a tube. The next set of headers will be sealed with a Remaflex heavy thick gasket.

Wish i'd have known about the remflex gaskets before I bought this other. I think I am gonna go with the orange or copper and if that doesn't work I will try the remflex next time.

Thanks all for the replies.

Remflex not sealing around one front exhaust port at the header for me. Gonna give the ultra copper a try and hope this does the trick.
