Topped off my battery with distilled water, Duralast batterys are pretty good for the price:).

Do they make a gusset for the 80s knuckle? I know I've seen them for the mini knuckles. Also, because of the panhard bracket I wouldn't be able to gusset it on top, would have to be on the sides - or underneath.

Keep all this up and the mods will start moving your posts to the "extreme build" forum.

Haha... 80 Series videos ..AKA......MILF porn.

80 series are great, but having one and living the dream$, that's priceless! Better than porn.

So it has started...

Started collecting parts for my wife's 80 build. I sold my trail rig at the beginning of the season last year and we did not get out wheeling. So a few months back my wife told me that she wanted her 80 trail ready for this year so we can go hit the trails. Not bad huh :) I already built her a bumper, it is a 3 piece modular design

Another $3K or so in parts and it will all be ready to go in her 80.

Whoof! Thats a beauty of a motor, but if you need an additional $3K in parts, what its he total?? $10K+?

Continued my head gasket/valve job/ EGR project in preparation for supercharger install.

I finished this up last night. New head gasket, head rebuilt, new valve seals with valve grind and decking, cleaned intake and new egr junk, witch hunter injector refurbish, etc. etc. Most of all the TRD supercharger. My only regret is not doing this the day I bought my 80. I always enjoyed driving it, but now its actually fun to drive. I am amazed how much more power it has, it seems to shift smoother and I can easily merge onto the freeway at 70+. Very cool.

That is a stock 5.3L Vortec straight out of an 04 Silverado. You are right on the mark.

Than k you! I recall years ago when I painted her with a two stage epoxy tan I got fugly from a lot of folks here. she is now khaki. I guess it took two wars for desert tan, khaki or coyote brown colors to become popular. I have always loved the desert and all associated colors.

I have been leaning towards Desert Sand Monstaliner with a white painted roof for reflectivity/emissivity. Pyroclastic (or something else) for the hood for anti-glare. For my 92.

I have two beige metallic 80s. So I kind of want to keep the color close. Plus I like the desert tan color in preparation for the zombie apocalypse. :)

I'm a pacifist so it isn't because of the wars. Just have always liked those colors.

View attachment 1036545 Can't do much of anything when I'm stuck here for the next two weeks. No Land Cruisers to be found :(
Had no idea iran was so mountainous!

I have always loved the Afrika Corp colors so that's where I got my ideas from

Went wheeling...wasn't on weekend.

Ok. So it wasn't wheeling but playing in the snow on the streets and pulling people out of ditches. This was a fun one. 8" of powder. Nobody had made it up, all downhill tracks. I pulled 8 vehicles up the hill. Not bad for a stock 80 on 30k BFG AT KOs.

You northeast Iowa bastiches stole all of our snow!

Only got 3-4 inches here, and found out the hard way that my Arizona street tires (which I imagine were a few years old) are waaaaay too hard and slick for snow.

I slid through two intersections with the ABS pumping like mad before I figure it out. At this point, my wife's minivan is a better snow vehicle than my Land Cruiser, frankly. It's still fun to drive, though, and I can get amazingly controllable oversteer when I try.
