went driving with my daughter again Sunday morning. She is an early bird like myself so we left at 5:30 (of course Starbucks was our first stop!). I had her drive the entire loop in the 80 (has her permit) from Scottsdale and Shea down to the Verde river past Fountain hills, turning at the casino and headed north all the way past Rio Verde and ended up at Needle rock along the river (where 7 mile wash by Bartlett lake Road dumps into the Verde). It was one of the nicest mornings I can remember with the clouds, spotty showers that cleaned up the air, and purple-flowering trees. Ive lived here all my life and only taken this route once before many years ago - need to go more, its a great drive. The groves of pecan trees on the res were impressive.

No pics but we stopped in a wash and put it in 4lo where she drove up a steepish & rutted hill and thought it was awesome :steer:

She loves the 80 (Daddys girl :D) and felt confident driving it back to Scottsdale Road in traffic and all the way home. When she starts driving consistently we will probably look for a car of her own - maybe a Scion...View attachment 1256168 View attachment 1256169 View attachment 1256170 View attachment 1256171
I think maybe daddy should be shopping for a new ride cause daughter looks pretty happy and comfy in the 80.

Geez, who sold you such a run down Cruiser? I thought it was in great shape. ;)
It is in GREAT shape for a 200k LC:) thank you for that (i get compliments almost daily). I'm just trying to slowly replace a lot of the older parts so it will run for another 200k! Right now I'm working on slowly replacing all the bushings to smooth out the ride a little.

Hey Goldy, you have a 40 and I never knew that!? Do tell.....

He brought it to the meeting one time

Angie and I tackled the annoying shakey drivers side mirror in the 200. Required 3 flat and 3 spring washers. More sophisticated fix than the 2 zip ties in the 80. No more twitch.

Removed oem ahc springs with 30mm spacers and installed 80 series springs, ride is much more controlled & less bouncy. @Saddletramp thanks again for the springs!

Yes, my neutral pressures were way to high with added weight of rear bumper, jack, tire, rear cargo drawers, etc... I didn't have time to measure post install but ride is definitely improved.

I've been dealing with the issue of supplying on board air for 3 different vehicles (1st world problems) and decided that it would kind of ridiculous to have a setup for each one so after some research I decided on the ARB self-contained unit. Then I saw how much they wanted for one...

So I built my own from a storm case I had on hand and a Viair 1 gallon tank, picked up a new ARB twin compressor from the classifieds and sourced miscellaneous hardware & fittings from Amazon, total cost is probably about $575 vs. $900~ from ARB.

Installed OEM spacers on the front, have not measured yet but I would call it a good 1" :D
My shutter valves opened just fine with a little PB, the unit itself still looks good, no corrosion yet. CBT hooked me up on the parts, if anyone is interested, part no. 43136-60020 need 2.
