Hey fellas - I've been doing a lot of the maintenance/troubleshooting myself and I'm sure all of you do the same. BUT, it would be awesome to know of a good "go-to-guy" in the GTA(and a bit beyond) for the things that make me scratch my head....any suggestions?

hit some of us local gta guys on www.sontt.com, here you'll find a few good yota gearheads to help you with. sign on up! some of us here are there as well. there's a big spring meet in april, come on out if you can.
cheers.

i do work on diesel Cruisers ...
but usually too far away for the Cruiserheads in Toronto

you can look at the links in my sig for the quality:

Hi Krustaceon, welcome to the obsession.

I am in Brampton and the closest Toyota expert I am aware of is Toy Works 4WD Center on Highway 9 just West of Orangeville. He does all kinds of Toyota truck work, including full diesel rebuilds.

I have only consulted with him on a few things and have yet to get him to work on any of my rigs so am simply passing on the information.

This is from his Kijiji posting:

519 938 9844

----------------TOY Works 4WD Center----------------
-General service, Performance, and Customization for Toyotas.
--Timing belts, Brakes, Tune ups, Springs and shocks, Exhaust, etc.
--Suspension lifts, Stainless mandrel exhaust, engine swaps (VW Diesel conversions)
--Stainless steel rust repair, body alterations and frame repair.
-New and used parts-Genuine Toyota and aftermarket.
--Fenders, engines, bumpers (original, aftermarket, custom built), etc.
Toyota truck 4Runner Tacoma Tundra Hilux Land Cruiser Surf pick up

For non-Landcruiser specific repairs beyond my abilities to Google, I have found:
Top Notch Motor Inc (Goodyear), (905- 459-2050)
264 Queen Street E, Brampton, ON L6V 1B9
A good bunch there and they also have two diesel mechanics, one of whom does has years worth of Toyota diesel experience from Europe.

Good luck in your search.

They were referred to me by Downtown toyota when Toyoa couldn't figure out a problem I had with my bj42, after that I would take the the cruiser there to find out other cruisers were going there, excellent work, honest and not greedy $. They were x toyota diesel mechanics.

Just picked up a 94 LC. I live in Toronto Canada, wondering if anyone has has experiences with Toy Works 4wd?

Any other suggestions on Toronto and GTA land cruiser mechanics? I called Torreiera and they said LC specialist is no longer there

Any help is appreciated.

Looking to baseline vehicle, rebuild knuckles and tackle some leaks

Crushers is a little hike from where I am.

Spoke with Toy Works, heading there tomorrow for a baseline.

Stocked up on bread and water preparing for the worst

There is a guy in King City who specialized in Toyotas and Land Cruisers in particular. He had some of his own. He does fabrication as well , in case you need. He can even do a buggy for you... Good friend of mine. ;)
Otherwise talk to local guys. We can be a treasure of information as well...

Place is called CrewFAB. The guy name is Jacob.
Unfortunately he had an accident and may not be back to his business for a few month. Is there something urgent you need to do?

Thanks for the info, hope he gets back up on his feet soon.
No nothing urgent really

Unfortunately Torreira no longer work on older Cruisers. I talked to them this week. It's too bad - need a local shop.
