Its amazing how often this video comes up

I think the popularity is with the driving style and not the truck itself. people thrashing vehicles, regardless of the moniker, are always very popular. It's just that this is an 80 forum and this guy thrashed an 80.

I'm sure it will be brought up again at some point.

I would guess people in this forum like watching that video because of the way the 80 handled the paces it was put through.

Even if the suspension was lack luster from, and i quote "Some jackass that doesn't know anything about springs"

Hey not my words:D:D

Pretty rad.

Well I have this video in DVD at home .. thought download it years ago and burn to keep it for the ethernity .. not only for the Cruiser ( that inspired me too ) the driving stile, the music and the route on this event ..

Make me feel so proud to own and drive a 80 series Toyota Land Cruiser .. big name to me ! means all.

I guess you can look at it two ways.

The truck did great and then the driver failed and it rolled

or

The driver did great and then the truck failed and it rolled.

Either way the truck and driver were pushed to the limits on that course and it's quite the spectacle to watch.

to me the driver is good, but just trying to go fast... its the truck that blows my mind... damn... he's working that truck.

It was a while ago, but I think it was nearly 2 minutes quicker to the roll point, 100m before the finish, than any other competitors on the day.

But,

To finish first, first you must finish ;)

this is some from last few years, same event.

Some 80's in there.

I think one of the reason this clip is so popular is the music, for some reason the beat just matches the visuals very well....

Lots of air under them front tires for sure... :)
