I stole the idea of the slide build from this truck owned by a friend of mine...

Please feel free to comment with suggestions. Truck will be used for camping, climbing, biking, and snow trips year round in the Americas.

Nice. It's hard to find a regular cab, 3/4 ton with a diesel. Kudos to you!

Just a few suggestions...

Ditch the recovery chain and get a recovery rope. It uses kinetic energy, which is a multiplier, to tug things out. It pays for itself with just one good, super stuck situation.

Next, get yourself an electric fridge if you plan on a lot of excursions. It is something you will never go without once you've experienced life with one. However, the time to wire it in is before you put that slide in. I know the diesels come with dual batteries form the factory, but put in a third with a Luna kit. Run the fridge to that along with any extra electric equipment to prevent any parasitic draws killing the main batteries.

Overall I dig it...

I'm dig'n it too.

My dream truck is the same but with the extra cab.

Look forward to following your build.

Looks great :)

I`m wondering how it looks when you have finish your work

It's gonna be an awesome build from the list...look forward to seeing it come together!

Nice!

Where are you store those gas cans while on the road?

Nice rig, I have the Mega Cab version of same, and am doing the bumper system as the funds come in. The slider rack idea is sweet. Have fun.

Quick Updates

Slow progress due to bad weather and busy schedule.

Here is a quick shot of the bed slide being fit, before all of the final welds and brackets.

This is the slide with the drawer in the frame and with a space that allows for fuel and water cans to fit between slide assembly and tailgate.

i'm gonna watch this, i have a 07 5.9 quad cab. that i would like to do something similiar with, my ole 60 just cant do the long miles out west or whatever, i could trailer it with the cummins cheaper than i could drive it.. :)
