Meh. 4/10. It’s shorter but it’s sloppy. This is the All-State gear kit by the way. If I didn’t just cut up my original shift tower for the threaded part that was difference I would put the original back in. Too late now.

Edit. I’m exhausted and forgot the plastic pivot bushings. It’s fine now. New rating 8/10.

Well. It’s been a thrash. But it moved. And drove home across town.

My mom brought food while I assembled the wastegates with the lightest springs and all the plugs in the bottom ports. Will run the vacuum hoses tomorrow.

Wastegates plumbed.

Had to remake the downpipe as it was hitting the driveshaft. I went around in front of the sump this time. I just rushed all this and mig-welded everything and it’s pretty sloppy.

Once I know everything works I would like to go back and do a nicer job. Doubt that will actually happen though.

I also installed a temporary air filter, which is funny because this is my first turbo project that I have actually bothered to put a air filter on
I really wanted to use the 62 canister but it doesn’t fit. I’ll build something or find something out of an OEM.

I also cut and welded a extra H42 shift handle to the nv4500 shift tower. Really happy with this.

Clutch is sort of working, it’s drivesbke but I don’t think I am getting 100% engagement, it’s kinda hard to shift into 1st/2nd at a stop. If I had more time I would pull everything apart and shim the slave cyl a bit but it is decent enough for now.

Driving around it definitely spools quick, like 2800-3k. I am going to have to be really careful to stay out of it for now as everything else is all stock.

And then the reason for all the work at the last minute. Hopped in the truck at 3am and drove it 1100 miles straight, with no AC, from Orlando to Dallas, my first half of the drive to Ouray for SAS.
Absolutely brutal but I got it done.

My turbo is leaking some oil Out of the cartridge which is super annoying but not really anything i can do about it. Same deal with the Nv4500 leaking out of the shifter for some reason. Going to be really careful not to run anything dry this time.

Brutal is a good description of that drive. I’ve done it a dozen times. Twice in my 60 fully loaded with my belongings. Not fun but the cruiser doesn’t care.

With no damn ac ain't no way. @Str8Razor did this trip to go snowboarding leaving from VA in his 100 series had the opposite problem my feet froze from the passenger side footwell blasting outside freezing cold air into and onto my feet. I'm sure you 62 is about to see more carnage and we are all here for the pictures.

I lived in Colorado for ten years. Five of those years I had no AC in the cruiser. It’s not that bad. Not as bad as the south.

I bet it’s a lovely break from the Florida humidity. No better time than August to leave Florida, right @cruisermatt?

My AC condenser ended up having a hole in it.

Some pics from SAS so far. Only took my truck out the one day so far on Imogene and been riding shotgun the others.

Today I managed to convince @cjmoon , @tornadoalleycruiser , @kc_chevota , and @mazder to drive up to Montrose and explore the buggy trails up there.

We started with the easiest trail there and took us about 5 hours to go about a mile  we turned around and went back after I had to winch up a pretty serious V-notch/stairstep thing.
We had a blast and will definitely be going back in trucks with less sheetmetal to explore more

Here are the few I got. I know Eric took a bunch on this run and waiting for him to share.

Friday I ran Poughkeepsie gulch solo with some friends riding along with me since their trucks were already packed up, I took every hard line for fun and ran the whole trail in like an hour and a half and spent two hours watching people struggle at the Wall.
I almost flopped the truck a few times taking some silly lines for fun but managed to drive out of them. I am getting more and more comfortable behind the wheel every time I drive, especially now the truck has been set up the same way for 5 years at this point without major changes.
Still waiting on pics and vids to get sent but will post them up.

Yesterday I drove from Ouray to Reno (900 miles), later today I will be heading to Tahoe City and the Rubicon trail again :bounce:

I was supposed to be in Reno today.

just landed in misery (Missouri)
I will let Matt share pics.. our group will probably upload their own to the google drive. I find that makes life easier after a trip to share photos.
