Did Toyota ever make them like this, or is it "home made"?

Aftermarket hardtop for the softop 70 serie,there used to be more of those around bit most of the softops have been used for heavy offroading and died a painful and slow death :(
 
Interesting, never knew there was a soft top 70. Do you know what markets it was sold in?

European and JDM for sure,Europe got the LJ70 and Japan the BJ70 that I know of.

There are even a few (but very very few and most are from 1989) factory soft top FJ70 (3F engines) in Venezuela. This one is my good friend's Fernando @ferportu. He is slowly bringing it back to life after too many years of neglect from previous owners.
