Tencha HJ-60
Hi all Cruiser fellows .. as many already know here is my sotry .. well at least I will try make it nice.
The story start many years agoo .. when I saw the next door new 62 ( off course here with a 2H ) was a grey unit hi roof .. yes .. I was definately in love !
Years later and still dreaming in a Land Cruiser .. ( and saving money ) take a desision and start searchin the best that I can afford .. Tencha ..
I saw a white HJ60 from 1987 ( I saw in 1997 ) drived by a old man, with a " for sale " and pursuit it until his home .. Dealing I bought Tencha ( weeks later ) in 7500 USD ..
Was rusted and the 2H diying .. but still beauty inside. The reason that the old man sale, was he buy a new one .. yap HDJ80 but another history.
I start selling my old Supra ( 1987 ) 2.8i and with this money start fighting with some rust in Tencha, mechanila issues .. water pump .. alternator, vacc pump .. and some simple sutff ..
I ran my Tencha from 317,XXX km ( when I bought ) up to 447,XXX km .. when the engine sayd that's all.
After a long rebuiling process .. I get it beauty painted, no rust, and fresh rebuilded with all Toyota Parts 2H.

Was in the top of the Volcano .. as you see .. pretty stock, only have OME shackles and 33" Kumho Tires ( no lockers, factory 3.70 etc )

Your truck is just about perfect now, the front fender cut turned out really really well, that i like especially.
How is the soft top doing as far as sealing out the elements and noise?

Hi guys .. Thanks .. really thanks all ..
I apreciated this comunity as my home and I had made really good friends here .. I hope come more and more throught the time ..
I try to answer all questions ..
The soft top it's noisy .. much more than a hard top coul be .. but it's obiusly. IMOP the most important issue it's the heat transfer from outside and the AC here in Panamá .. I'm aways fight with this and triying to improove it.
Long Ranger .. where do you live here .. ? you are a Zonian . ? I have much frind that move when the Zone over .. and other live here this days ..
Cody .. my intercooler come from a Frod Mustang and I found it in SummitRacing
89s Rule .. I have no idea how much power I'm getting from my old 2H with all mods .. it's pretty m uch more that I get before .. but anycase I want more !!!! I'm little afraid to get She in a dyno .. coz I dream with 200 HP .. and 400 lb/p but the reality coul be hard !
Detailed view of my front fender cut ..
How to remove a ugly bull bar from a J**p .. Attach it here !
Little flex ..

I lived on Albrook AFB in the Zone. I came back to the US in 1977 after a year with a yellow t-shirt with the word Zonian printed on it, much to the confusion of my highschool classmates. I loved being there. We fished Gatun lake for peacock bass every weekend. I remember places like Santa Clara beach and El Valle in the mountains. Parrots, iguanas, tree sloths, boa constrictors etc etc etc.....I would love to go back.
