Looks great! Why doesn't Yakima release these in the US? I would have jumped on this option. I loved all my Yakima stuff, but couldn't deal with the "stack" height of the Yakima attachment points and rails on top of the factory setup (won't fit in our stupid low garage door openings here in TX). I settled on the Gamiviti rack and installed it this past Friday in Denver. Couldn't be happier.

you can thank Gobi Rack for that. They patented direct mount roof racks and have been taking legal action against other US based companies who are producing them. Google it, theres a crazy thread on a 4runner site about it

Dang. That's crazy. In the bicycle world, Specialized is particularly known for doing that. I won't ever ride a Specialized product. Glad I didn't get the Gobi rack then ;)

That is good to know. I just checked out a neighbor's Gobi and it was nice. I will not do business with a company like that.

If you're looking at racks, consider Gamiviti. I have one and it is dang nice. Do yourself a favor, check them out. @nakman (owner of Gamiviti) is a great guy to deal with.

Thanks, I have seen your pics and it looks good. I also have garage issues and I am deciding whether I can get by with my roof boxes or not. Gamiviti is high on the list.

Nice, but for those of us who just want load bars there are very few options. Gamiviti, Gobi, etc. don't seem to have the same thing that Rhino Rack and Yakima AU have. Unless it's just not listed on their sites.

If you want this specific setup, the only game in town are Yakima and Rhino Rack. I thought that besides for the small hiccup with my order (totally random btw), I think it's worth ordering from Yakima Australia - price is comparable and the product is great.

One thing to consider would be to buy just the Gamiviti towers/mounts. Then buy the Thule bars. You'd drill a hole on each end of the bars and put a bolt thru the hole in the bar and corresponding tower. Super easy and super clean look and cost a fraction of the Yakima setup. Just a thought.

Me either, I was close. Then stumbled upon that thread.

Right? how are you going to patent a pretty universal thing. Its a metal basket that attaches to your factory rack locations lol its not splitting the atom!

Does this sit much higher that the factory rack? I'm thinking about garage clearance.

Reviving an old thread here... but I wanted to let anyone who might be interested that Yakima USA will begin selling the Lock N Load platforms here domestically beginning in August of this year (2019). Initially, Yakima USA will be importing the following platform sizes. Next to each size is listed suggested or approximate vehicle fitments. These are guidelines only to help conceptualize the scale of the platforms. Yakima USA will be releasing a specific tested fit guide in August at launch to ensure proper fitment by year make and model for your specific vehicle.

With that (in a rough size order from small to large):
Platform K: 55x49" - ideal for overcab fixed point on double-cab/extended cab pickups(varies)/crosstrek, compact suv's, etc...
Platform B: 60x54" - ideal for 4Runner's/Cherokee's/Shortbed Tacos/Rangers/Colorados/80 series LC etc...
Platform J: 76x65" - ideal for Longbed tacos/Rangers/Colorados, 70 series (some), shorted fullsize beds (F150, etc) etc....
Platform E: 84x49" - ideal for long thin roofs, 70 series troopies, 100/200 LC, ford flex, some sprinter application (custom), etc
Platform N: 84x54" - ideal for wider long roof, full size vans, sprinters (custom), 100/200 LC (varies), suburban, excursion, etc.
Platform H: 84x62" - ideal for full size sprinter, customer application, lwb vans, etc

Currently, for more information on the system and it's technical specifications please refer to Yakima's Australian site:

Also, I will be getting a platform in the next week for fitment and wear testing and am available to answer any questions regarding install, compatibility with other systems (thule, rhino, etc), considerations and cost. My understanding is that pricing is being re-finalized due to the most recent round of tariffs but will be ready well in advance of launch. Regardless, expect to pay more than you would for a LoadWarrior...hahahahaha

I had heard the rumors regarding them bringing these in, I'm excited to see that confirmed! Can I assume that they will be bringing in the vehicle specific mounting kits as well?
