Then I joined up the odometer with the other restored, plated, and refreshed bits to create a NOS like gauge cluster... wonder how many miles she’ll see in her next life?

Can you confirm if you used a valve regrind kit 04112-60062 when you rebuilt the motor. Just trying to confirm it is the correct head gasket and manifold gasket for the early f engine.

Confirmed

Opening up the odometers is not too bad. Just have a good clean space and lay it all out as it comes apart. Then clean, zero out, and carefully reassemble

I’m back!! It’s been a while but the resto.hit a major speed bump about a month ago and it has finally been resolved. It’s a long story for sure...I took my reassembled body back to my painter for some final wet sanding and buffing but during that process they accidentally burned through the clear into the paint. Which then required that panel to be resprayed and that’s where things went down hill :( It turns out the paint supply house who originally mixed the Capri blue made a mistake in their initial mix and when my painter tried to get more paint to repair the damaged panel it was not the correct shade. Long story short at 5 different try’s to match the color but it was ultimately unsuccessful and in the end my 45 had to be completely disassembled and repainted with the correct Capri blue formula. It’s been a long frustrating process but I finally have my cab back and I am picking up where I left off last month.

Here she was this time last month....I was so close to being done

And the a few days later it was all back in pieces...

Finally got the body back yesterday and now I’m going full bore over the next two weeks or so to finish this old girl up! It’s probaly hard to tell in these pictures but the new correct Capri blue is much darker than the original coat above.

In my down time I decided to make some mats for the 45. In my LPB parts book they are shown as a factory option but I am unsure if any came that way to the States. My 1963 FJ45LV had the factory white pyramid vinyl floor mats which I used for reference.

Other that I broke in the engine, I did 20 mins at 2k rpm and it was very nerve wracking to say the least. However it all went well and she is purring like a kitten now.

Few random shots from today to bring the build up to speed...

You need the rubber boot thingy on your dimmer switch. :p Calling @RAGINGMATT

Interior pretty much wrapped up but I’m still waiting on the trans tunnel and some other small bits from my painter. Still looking to be to be road worthy by the end of next week :steer:

Today I ran errands most of the morning but I was able to swing by the painters to pick up everything but the bed.

Felt good to get the trans tunnel in.... it’s been a lot of back and forth with the painter but in the end I’m very pleased with the results.

Thought I’d share this handy grommet kit I got off Amazon for roughly $10 bucks. It’s had every grommet I need that is NLA from Toyota.
