Would you buy a 200 again?

My tesla setup has video and sound RCA inputs. Since I dont care about rear entertainment I have never played with them. Not sure its a foregone conclusion that you lose the rear entertainment. You might have to replace it though. I have no idea
At the point in which there was no integration I'd probably look for solutions to remove the current setup from the ceiling and replace it with a (custom?) filler panel. Toyota retails that rear screen for almost $8,000, so I'm fairly sure I could cover the cost of the filler panel *and* the 16" Tesla-style upgrade screen by selling it on ebay.

Yeah you're currently my model if/when I ever do this... ;-)

2016 LC here, yes I would buy again. First LC (80 series) replaced my wife’s BMW Z4; 2nd LC 2016 replaced my BMW 650 GC M series. Not missing them at all.

Would I buy it again? Yes, no doubt, I love mine. It's taken me over 8,000 miles in the last 90 days or so and a good deal of that was true offroad or off the pavement at least. It's such a great blend of 80mph highway mile crusier and 3mph rock crawler.

That said I realized recently I end up encouraging more people I know to buy a GX then a LC. I think for most the value proposition is fantastic for the GX and for all the extra dollars a great many people I know would not see enough incremental value for the extra spent to go to the 200. Obviously those of us on this forum get both real and perceived value by going the extra mile to purchase the 200 and have few regrets about doing so. To those that ask though I like to stress it's not necessary to do so to come out to play and for those that might not be comfortable using something that costs this much offroad the GX might be more appropriate.

Any major driving (not infotainment) difference between the pre and post facelift LX’s? Has been years since I drove a 16+.
8spd transmission, which may suffer the early shifting habits, though that can be updated via firmware. Also I think the 16+ generally came with larger wheels that will impact ride quality marginally. It’s not like the earlier trucks were on 17s already.

No aside from the 8 speed transmission which is clunkier than the 5 and 6 speed in earlier cruisers. They are both 2020s so firmware is the latest.

21” wheels provide slightly improved turning response.

Yes and no. I really do like our LX570 200 series, it's significantly smoother and quieter and just all around more refined than our GX460 but I wouldn't say that it's worth $30-40K more. After owning both side by side I have come to appreciate the size and maneuverability of the GX off-road and around town more so than that of the LX and it's far less investment than the LX both at purchase and when building them out. The LX wins hands down when on the highway, it's not even close IMHO.

We just got back from driving our LX 1,500 miles round trip to Florida and back and we surprisingly averaged over 18 mpg on 33's hand calculated. That's right there with our GX on the same size tire so I was surprised. They don't compare in that department around town, the LX sees 12-14 mpg while the GX is consistently 15-16.5 mpg around town.

As much as we like our LX, odds are it'll go on the chopping block next year in favor of a larger vehicle. We simply need more interior space when traveling over the road with three Dobermans and all of our luggage/gear.

I had a 2010 Sequoia Platinum and loved it. It was way to big for the town I live in, Boulder CO. Parking spots are super small and parking is always a challenge. Plus I found the Sequoia size just too big for the trails in the Rockies. I then went back to a 100 series, a LX470. After a year and a growing family it was just too small. The 200 series seems to be just right and I would buy it again. If I had the means I would for sure pickup a 2021 LC and not look back.

I feel the same way. I oftentimes recommend a GX or 4runner. I know in my heart that the LC is overkill for almost every part of America. I also know that most people are just weekenders. We have had the privilege of driving our on LC in South America and benefited from driving other off-road trucks in foreign countries. It’s easy conclusion to arrive at why the LC is the ultimate vehicle but in America not so much. It’s only when you are driving at 50 mph over roads for a hundred miles that in America most would only drive 35mph do you understand.

Perhaps valid points for the weekend off roader. For me, a GX or 4runner is entirely too small, and not an adequate tow vehicle for pulling my boats. My choice was Sequoia or LC; the Sequoia was too big and too dated. A GX or 4runner would not be in consideration at all.

No. Got mine 2 years ago, new. Its an awesome vehicle, and certainly has no competition in its abilities. But with "overlanding" and offroading becoming more and more "cool", and fewer places to use the truck, I wouldn't. As it sits now I have to justify driving it, which is silly. With a 2020 Honda pilot and '14 altima (which seems to live forever) i find myself longing for something fast. Volvo v90 wagons, v60 polestars. Still take the kids and gear, just carving up the mountain instead of going straight over.

Thats why i have driven LCs for 35 years. Trips from the arctic to deep in the south. I also love the fact that the LC is pretty invisible as we have had zero issues in some deeply troubled countries.

Absolutely...wish I could trade in my 2018 4Rnr for another 200 series. The LC is the best SUV Toyota has to offer. Had to supercharge the 4Rnr just for highway travel, 3rd row is worthless because it lacks air vents for passengers, and headroom isn't the greatest.

On my 2nd.
No. But only because I hope I never need to :)

Other than daily driver and room for 5, what's the use case? Long trips, camping, off-road, towing, mostly local, etc.? There are some really nice 3-row AWD SUVs available right now with the latest infotainment----and are much more efficient----and half the cost of an LC. If you need the immense capability of the LC, buy a 2021 LC and don't look back. If you don't need those capabilities, take some more test drives in other SUVs.
When I buy something I want the very best LC/LX. My value equation is based on build quality dependability and reliability not high tech crap. I want an SUV that will last 25 years in a Third World country even though I don’t need one.

Yep. Just went on another backcountry camping trip with the family of 5 plus our Aussie. Towed the turtleback up into the backwoods of SW Colorado. Hands down the best vehicle I've ever owned. The stuff this thing will wheel over, while pulling a trailer, is second to none. We were actually talking about picking up a '21 now that we heard it may be over.....
