This design is much better, which is closer to the stock location & distributes the stress angle lower towards the knuckle. Second pic shows double sheared drag link mount:

Worst Mod....adding a washer to the carb bowl and not finding it until I had the #3 piston in my hand with the washer melted to the top of it. Yeah, I don't recommend that to anyone.
 
Factory power steering gearbox. Worked fine until I put bigger tires. It will drift a little and turning to the left is effected. I will replace with a fj60 ps gearbox.:)
 
I did a nice custom SR when I did my SOA and after watching alot of flexing cruisers both with a SR and without I am convinced that the shackle forward set up in conjuction with a SOA is the most articulate set up on the trail.

Hypershackles from JTO. Supposed to allow your axle to drop for more articulation on the trail, and it does. But when you get back to the pavement, it feels like the rear end is spring loaded and "jumps" over any bump in the road. Ride is terrible. Ran them for three months before I put the stock ones back on. Oh by the way, I have a spare set of hypershackles for sale if anyone wants them....;p

Same with the doweny cantaliver shackels. At one point I had them on front and rear. Got two blocks from my house, felt like I was "dancing" on four stilts any time I gased it. I took the front off. The rear I made a Z bracket, to lock them to the frame. Worked ok like that, but finally got them off. Any one need a pair? Might work for an old f with no compresson or power.:lol:
 
Rebuilding the Rear Drum brakes. I wasted alot of money on buying all new wheel cylinders and having hard lines made up. I should have just converted to disc and been done with it. I am tired of always having to adjust them and clean them after every mud run.:D

Worst mod SM420 should have dished out the extra cash for the NV4500. Rolling around at 4 miles to the gallon sux balls
