I would look for one that comes with a clutch

yah you kind of want a clutch to run it off a switch :p

A clutch gos without saying since it's also the pulley right? They hat them as well. I really dislike doing business on eBay and avoid it if I can get it somewhere else.

you can buy clutches on their own as they can replaced

Hell even PepBoys carries them.

i got a guy going to look in the local pick and pull yard for a couple compressors, the site says like 35 bucks a piece, he wants 28 for a clutch lol, i was like I can buy what I need from partsource for 30 bucks

either way I should pumping some air this week!

I made a simple bracket and mounted a York above the power steering pump on the 5.3 in my 40. The hardest part was getting the right length serpentine belt.

Thanks and that might be the route once I decide which route to go.

Hey @NLXTACY!! I know you're a super busy guy but I wanted to ask a quick question. Do you have a rough timetable on releasing the OBA kits to compliment the York?

Only reason I ask is I was wondering if I needed to start sourcing my own parts. Here in the south it's too dang hot to hit the trails and camp so prime overlanding weather is coming and I wanted to have this system up and running before fall.

Not trying to add to your plate but I know your kit will be top notch and would save me a HELL of a lot of time.

Thanks.

My first proto was a dud. I had three dimensions off and I changed my mind on a design element. Keeping things simple. I have everything else dialed in I think.

I visited the metal shop on Thurs before I went camping and they are good to go when I am.

So what's the plan?

So what's the plan?

The plan is to redo a couple of dimensions tomorrow along with some little changes. I may wind up using an existing hole after all and using a rivnut. It would just make me feel better. I need to finalize the manifold mount as well so I can produce both at the same time. I'm fairly confident I can batch the two into one cut file. I don't have a timeline other then ASAP.

I finally have a little bit of time to work on this again. I got in the relay and holder I wanted to use. I like it because it is weather-proof, comes with 12" leads and still uses a similar Metri-Pack set up. I just need to get some little mounting tabs for it and then I'm good to go...mostly :P

That is a slick little thing you found on the weather tite relay.

I'm finally getting around to installing my system. While I'm waiting for UPS to drop off the final bits today, I wanted to know what folks are using for York suction side air filters. On my 91 I used the tap from the air cleaner that was feeding the smog pump. What's the deal with the 1FZ-FE?

I'm most likely just going to make a hose kit for the suction side. My hesitance has been the 4 possible options of York fitting.

Are you throwing a filter on it or are you tapping into the air cleaner housing?
