@jonheld looking forward to meeting you and shaking your hand. I've used your 3fe references a lot and it'll be nice to say thanks in person.
I'll be the shiny black LX450 with Jersey plates. Looking forward to it.

We can get @radioridge to take everyone on a guided trip of trail 16 after a nice spring rain :moon:

Count me in!!!

We can even pull the fuel filter of the 3B just so they get the full effect...

At the GC, this is a great story that I hope Andy gets to tell around the fire one night. It was an epic adventure to say the least. And I use the word adventure very loosely.

Oh come on.

So back to the topic at hand... is there likely to be someone that would lead a couple of big fat (but capable) 60 and 80 series wagons through the toughest trails that are not LIKELY to trash loads of sheet metal?

i'm sure you can join up with one of the groups that form up in the park, generally a few of the 60s will get together and or similar setup trucks so everyone can handle the same trails.

we will have some easy to moderate guided rides. these are really good for people not familiar with the park.

Andy, Mark's 60 is a built as a big dawg for the trails (i.e., he does not play on the bunny trails like me). In the build, he selected sheet metal from a straight rust-free donor. Consequently, Mark enjoys the challenge of difficult trails which are wider (where trees and boulders are not necessarily going to permanently mark & alter the sheet metal of every truck that passes). Hence, his request is focused on trails beyond stock/moderate {difficult} that a good driver-n-truck can tackle without altering the sheet metal.

Mark, Am I reasonably close in my description?

Yeah, I don't mind stuff that is tough to get up or over, I WOULD like to avoid, as much as possible, things like the section on 15 (I think its 15) that is so deeply rutted most trucks basically grind through on the passenger side of the truck.

That's the half way point of Tr 15 and there is a bypass, not that it does much good though cuz you get right back into it in the 2nd half of the trail. So, if you're not willing to (potentially) lay your rig on its side don't bother with 15.

Looks a little wet in that video so standard rules don't apply but when dry and done properly that spot is far easier.

Steve from GSMTR a couple years ago - a good example of "keep the hood level" and you'll be ok.

Now, all that said, it's easy to fall off the wall

Sidney - same day
