Trying to locate the rubber that goes on the chrome molding. Any ideas where I might find a suitable replacement?

Had this exact issue on a 62 I was doing interior work on a while back. The rubber that seats the chrome window trim is a 3mm D-section bulb seal — the same profile used on a lot of JDM stuff from that era.

One option that worked well for me: Steele Rubber Products (steelerubber.com) has bulk D-section seal stock in a few sizes, and their 3/16" bulb x 3/8" flange matched the FJ6x trim channel pretty closely. You cut to length, work it into the channel starting at the bottom, and overlap the ends at a corner where it won't show.

Other option is to source the clip-on felt/rubber combo strips from Restoration Specialties if you want the original style with the fuzzy face. They're a bit stiffer but look the part.

Before you order anything, take the chrome molding off one corner and measure the channel depth and the gap between glass and chrome — the FJ60/62 trim profiles vary slightly year to year. Get the actual measurements and you'll be able to match it exactly.

I've long wanted to make a mold and then cast reproductions of those. I have yet to find a good one though to mold though.

I've been trying to find a solution to replace those rubber end pieces for years.. I have my fingers crossed @CruiserTrash or another awesome vendor here will reproduce them.

Years ago, you could still source new chrome from binmahmoodstores, but it was $$$$. Beyond that, I have no idea what the professional restoration shops are doing. I also have never seen a used set for sale with ones in good condition.

They get so bad too. They're there to keep you from cutting yourself on the edge of the formed metal, but they get so dry and brittle, crack off in pieces, and leave jagged little rock hard pieces that also cut you. I think any solution is going to require removal of the old before replacement with new.
