Will these seats work in my '87?

The seats in my '87 are shot. I ran across a Craigslist ad for a cheap pair of good looking Camry bucket seats that pretty much match what my original interior was. They are a few miles away, or I would just go take a look. Does anybody know if they will work? I don't mind swapping mounts or something like that. I just don't need another project right now.

The way to see if they would is have him measure the mounting area and you measure yours and see if they'll line up. If they won't you could always just drill new holes to get them mounted up, I did that when I wanted my 89 split bench into my 84.

I’ve had a set of Subaru seats and now a set of VW Recaro seats in mine. A bit of flat stock, a bit of welding, and drilling holes was all it took. The most time was waiting for the paint to dry after I fabbed everything up.

I have what I believe is a stupid question:

Will any seat in the same gen as my 1987 Toyota Pickup fit without drilling new holes? What about a same gen 4 Runner?

I cant find a good place online for part numbers and swap-ability.

I believe the answer is yes.

@caitiebeth that is what I remember as well. I would be so bold as to say you would be pretty safe getting seats from any 2nd gen (84-88) truck and 1st gen 4runner. However, the passenger seat on the 4runner is meant to allow a passenger in the back and acts differently than one from a truck. If you have a bench seat, then, I think, holes will need to be drilled.

4Runner passenger seat will not bolt right in, one foot is different, the one closest to the door in the rear. I actually have a spare SR5 4Runner seat, I want to swap it for easier access to the rear shelf.

This. My ’85 came with a bench, but the holes were all there for buckets. The 4Runner passenger seat is different, but otherwise (as Kris says) any ’84-’88 pickup seats will work. It’s also not hard to adapt other seats. I’ve bent flat stock so that it bolts to the front and rear holes on each side and then welded the sliders from other seats to those. I’ve done Subaru and VW GTI (Recaro) seats that way.

You could try 88-91 Crx/Civic seats .
