Do you think the front spacers were imperative? Trying to understand how different it would really look without them?
I'm days away from installing the ome lift and now i have an additional caveat to consider. Just want to get it right.
It looks really awesome!! Very awesome!
edit.
If ya wanna roll a 18x9 with 20 or 25mm offset and that tire size, I would say yes roll the spacers or bigger bump stops, it's that close, without them you could rip a fender out! just my 2 cents... this pic is before front spacers...Do you think the front spacers were imperative? Nice work - great looking rig.....and a nice stable of vehicles!
How much, what areas of the front wheel well plastic did you trim?
Awesome rig. I am considering the same tire size.
1) The small front mudflap on the rear side of the tire was removed. A couple of inches of the plastic wheel well liner was trimmed near the wing of the body mount.
2) On the front area of the wheel (front bumper), there is some type of mini looking square mud flap (about 2" x 3") right in the center that is bolted on to the plastic wheel well. This was the hitting point, so I removed that, and they removed a portion of that center rib of the wheel well liner near it. There is a small metal brace (about 3") that holds that mini flap to the wheel well behind it, it's just attached to the plastic liner by two plastic rivets, that was removed as well. *I believe with the replacement of the bumper to an ARB or TJM this would eliminate this particular rubbing area.
Took my about 20 minutes going in and out of my driveway/gutter, flexing in different positions to get the rubbing areas trimmed.
I think someone once mentioned it helps create a disruption in airflow which helps cool the breaks... Could be wrong?Always been curious what they were trying to accomplish with those itty bitty "flaps" in front of the front tires...

They're just mudflaps for going in reverse.I think someone once mentioned it helps create a disruption in airflow which helps cool the breaks... Could be wrong?

Nice pics WildyOats! I'm also considering the same wheel and tire set-up that you have. Do you know if there is any rubbing on the fenders under full compression? Also, how are you handling the spare tire, are you running a size that is similar in diameter as the rest of the tires? Just curious, someone slashed a tire on my cruiser last night which is expediting my upgrade path. Thanks in advance!
