A 1994 will need the rivnuts as your factory mount nuts are on the side of the frame. I’d just weld the LCP link bracket on to the frame and be finish more quickly. I question the strength of the rivnuts for more serious off road action where the suspension is being worked hard. Time takes a toll.
You read post #17 right

IMO that side mount extension is not up to the task

The LCP kit is time tested and if you have a drill motor you should be able to get it mounted.

Steve @baldilocks has a point that welding it would be faster and possibly stronger but welding upside down is not easy or fun.
If you can weld or know someone who can for you it’s a possibility.

Unless you doing extremely rock crawling I wouldn’t be concerned about the revnuts

Definitely have a drill and no plans to do any extreme rock crawling in this in the near future. I think I’ll give the riv nuts a go. Wish me luck! Recommendations on what length to set the end links to? Hoping comes with a manual - haven’t been able to find a Mud post on installation but maybe I’m stupid…

I had those same plated extensions that you have. For what you seem to be planning to do in your cruiser, those are sufficient.

Got it. So for light / moderate trails, you’d recommend new OEM end links to those extensions as the simplest option?

I see no problem with simply buying some new end links and to continue running the extension brackets you already have.

I have the whiteline bar on a 94 and bent the extension brackets first time the rear articulated. Went with LCP using rivnuts and no issues since.

Technically you are correctly set up as shown....new end links are never a bad idea since yours look like they've been on for a while!

I have a '94 too and use the @LandCruiserPhil links on a Whiteline rear sway with @Outsane aluminum mounts (eye candy & functional!). I've run a half dozen multi day east coast rocky crawling events, and the've done great. Mine are riv-nut installed for now, but I'll probably throw a bead on them when I start working on my labs bumper build.

After a bit of investigation, it appears I have the factory end link on an extension link installed currently. I note Baldilocks statement above…So the question is 1) Do I even need extended links? What benefit would it add? 2) If so, do I still need Rivnuts or can I use the extension link? 3) If so, do I just run the bolt through the extension link? Regardless these look pretty worn so even if I don’t need extended links, I’ll be ordering new OEM ones.View attachment 4088929View attachment 4088930

IMHO, those work only if the axle mostly moves straight up and down, but we know it doesn't. I mean, fine for on-road...but off-road the axle rotates more. This will put more lateral stress on those bars and those short links. Your bar doesn't twist or give...so all that force goes into those short links. I mean, fine for on-road....but not great for off-road.

Thanks all. Found a good friend who is willing to show me how to MIG weld, so two birds, one stone with this install. On those sway bar brackets, assume will need to drill holes there? @Outsane

No they will bolt right up.
