Hi all,

I'm looking to install the 30mm Whiteline rear sway bar. However, I have a 3" Lift on ICON suspension. When speaking with customer service at Whiteline, they mentioned I'd need new end links but couldn't point me in the direction of which one would be compatible. Has anyone installed this on a 3" lift? What end links would you recommend?

What year is your 80?
Mine is a '96 (JDM) and didn't have to rivnut anything. Straight forward install

Should be ok but may need to check your frame for the threaded holes for the bracket. Mine had them already so no Rivnut needed

Great, thank you. Have you got the sway bar disconnect too? If so, how's that working out? Does it work for rear or front only?

I did not. I only added the rear sway bar & links as my 80 had pretty bad body roll when I got it. (Soft 3" lift springs that it came with from Japan)

I was trying to stiffen that up for on highway use. I'd like to add from at some point but It hasn't hindered me while off roading yet.

LCP Severe Duty Rear Link
This is the only way if running a factory style rear sway bar. Mine have done Rubicon many times, Fordyce a few, and several Johnson Valley trails. I finally bent one smacking it squarely on a rock on Jack Hammer I'm pretty sure. And it drove back to Oregon just fine. I run a WhiteLine bar btw

Not for long right ?
With your new 14 bolt upgrade, what’s the plan ?

We offer Swaybar disconnects for the front only and you will get ~15% increase in travel, YMMV. Our testing has shown you can get 100% rear articulation with a HD Whiteline when set up properly using our Adjustable links.

Assuming the links come with an instruction manual? New to the whole DIY thing and would like to give it a go solo before throwing in the towel and paying someone to do it.

You can do it !!

Do I need the rivet nuts as well?
A 1994 will need the rivnuts as your factory mount nuts are on the side of the frame. I’d just weld the LCP link bracket on to the frame and be finish more quickly. I question the strength of the rivnuts for more serious off road action where the suspension is being worked hard. Time takes a toll.

After a bit of investigation, it appears I have the factory end link on an extension link installed currently. I note Baldilocks statement above…So the question is 1) Do I even need extended links? What benefit would it add? 2) If so, do I still need Rivnuts or can I use the extension link? 3) If so, do I just run the bolt through the extension link? Regardless these look pretty worn so even if I don’t need extended links, I’ll be ordering new OEM ones.
