I live in Texas - enuff said right?

Been searching and found one truck but the angle wasn't very good. Anyone care to share pics of their white topped 80?

Pic

I have done this on mine. I don't have any great pics of it atm (too much sunlight) but here is one that is slightly better before we removed the Yakima rack from the top. I may be able to grab another this weekend at the latest.

IMHO - If you are going to white top your 80 (I'm in Texas too, and I would consider it if I didn't already have the best color of OEM white...) - hit the A Pillars as well, or it just looks chopped at the top of the windshield.

someone on here has a red 91 with white all the way down, I considered it, but I went for the fjcruiser look.

A local buddy did this on his 6M1 Green 80 and the temp difference is amazing. We were able to put our hands on the roof and keep it there. But, we couldn't even touch the body it was so hot. He'll pipe in here with a pic I'm sure.

yeah temp reduction was satisfying... front fender was like 150F, the roof was 102 and the ambient was ~75 right Ali? those were temps at ~6.5k' at noon

i really should take a new picture... so dirty...

the roof clearcoat was gone over most of the roof and this was an experiment with little risk since i plan to bedliner the whole thing when i get to it... not truly white but i like the color better.

Looks better with the A-pillars left alone. Paiting them makes the truck look more chopped up. I will be doing this to my 80 soon when I remove the roof rack.

Sweet thanks for the link ive been wondering who else makes them besides ARB

I live in california though and im not sure if i can justify a white top for my rig, my dad's 60 series is white and it always cooler than my 80 but not by much

Thanks, Folks! I appreciate all of the responses. I like how it looks and am thinking I'll give er a shot. Already hitting almost 90 here in the metroplex.

Well as always the great threads are about 80's...so I have a Funner but I'll chime in anyway. I'm getting ready in the next week or so to have our co. roof sprayed with white line-x. I'm in Texas too and at some point our rig will be shipped to Honduras with us and we will be super close to the equator. If I'm remembering correctly most rigs there have white roofs. I'm only doing the very center of the roof...I mean I'm not coming over the curved edge or the pillars. Hope it looks good when I'm done!
