Speaking of removing shiny bits and pieces, the russians have the executive black edition. Comes with blacked out headlamp housings.

This will become a U.S. available part, with amber reflectors, with the "Heritage" edition for 2016+ LCs.

Were you able to match the pearl or just ran whatever white you could find?
I had to order a few different versions to find a good match.

And was it pearl?

Here’s the one I bought. It’s a very close match to the blizzard pearl white.

LX owners have chrome door handles. I did this 3m wrap as a test to see how it would look. The way the door handles are constructed actually hides the seam in the back, the door handle is two pieces.

The chrome on the door bumpers is probably next, I have to figure out how to remove them.
Grill would be after that. I'll dip it and if that doesn't hold up ill paint it.
Looking at buying the black window trim from the LC and replace that but I want to see how hard that is to take off.

Black Cruiser owners can cover their chrome too... 🚫:vomit:

Here's a combo of several methods -
  • paint on the rear emblems
  • plasti-dip (gunmetal metallic) on the side strips
  • wrap on the front grille and emblem.
The paint has held up well on the back, but when I tried it on the grille it was prone to chips. There's a lot of rocks on the roads here in CO. The gunmetal Plasti-Dip looks nice and was easy to apply, but it still has a very slightly tacky/rubbery feel to it after several months. I've never had that behavior with the flat black variety. The wrap on the grille is new, so long-term durability is unknown.

Yeah, been here 10 years but still feel like a visitor. Maybe it's because I don't wear shorts and flip-flops in the winter time. ⛄⛄

I sell those decals on eBay. I'm designing one now that says "Naive". o_O

Back on topic - 3M 1080 M230 Matte Gray Aluminum wrap is a very close match for the gray grille bars on the early grilles. It works very well for covering the chrome strips that run horizontally along the grille.

Bumping this thread, it's been a while and wondering if anyone else has come up with anything.

I did order some Avery SW900 109-S Satin gloss pearl that is an exact match to the Blizzard Pearl paint on my 13, but the first attempt at wrapping my rub strip chrome was a total fail. I do think that'll look good on the sides though.

For the grille and rear nameplate strip still looking for ideas.. maybe the gray that @Itsky used.

That's the same color I have on my rear quarter windows. It's a good match, has some pearl, but it's not exact. Close enough though.

Still undecided if I like the windows covered or not. It was cheap and easy to do, also easy to remove. Take your time, watch some YouTubes, it's not hard.

You are right. Not exact, but about as close as I think we are going to get. For my uses it’ll be perfect. The 3M color I also got is much more tan.

Go for it! I’m still with the gray, looks great! I did my grill and it I’m happy with it.

I just tried out Superwrap ‘Gun Metal’ on my wheels. Going to try it on my chrome trim next. It’s peelable, but also glossy. So far so good but hasn’t really been tested.

Completely oblivious to this thread, I went and bought a bunch of vinyl samples from metrorestyling.com to try and match the Starfire Pearl white on my 2014 LX570. I found that the two closest matches were the Avery Gloss White Pearl SW900-109-S and Avery Satin White Pearlescent SW900-117-O.

I ended up ordering some of the SW900-117-O as I preferred the satin look. My plans are to use to remove my door fascia and cover the holes (still in the process of doing that this weekend). The 2014 model year LX570 has plastic fasteners for these parts and I prefer the look of the car without this fascia. If it doesn't look right I'll reinstall. I bought enough wrap to do the rear chrome pieces on the hatch as well as door handles. Hope my shadetree vinyl wrapping skills are up to snuff :) 🤞

I also tried some Duplicolor customwrap (Plasti Dip copycat) in white to cover some of the chrome at the rear. It's actually not bad, I included a shot of that. I may replace it with the Avery white vinyl just for consistency and better durability.

I used some 3M 1080 satin black to wrap the chrome around my windows, it turned out ok, but I had a tough time navigating the tight corner at the base of the rear windows. I'll end up redoing that soon most likely, but it was a cheap and easy first trial run.

I know I’m the odd man out but I LOVE chrome- Blingier the better. I really like to sparkle and shine when I drive down the street. I guess it takes me back to when cars had chrome bumpers and trim, I like that shine. I want my LC to look like a Liberace jacket.

......

Do you have photos from further back of the white matched portion? I'm gearing up to do black plastidip with the graphite metalizer over it, but doing some sections matched white might look nice.

I'm leaving the chrome alone - I kind of like it. If it gets dinged up, scratched and ratty looking I'll cover it with some kind of film wrap I guess.
