^ Not yet.. but i will!

We have a Maggiolina Autohome and I can't say enough good things about it (except maybe the price). We've had it since '13 and it's still in perfect shape with no issues. It goes up/down in about a minute, is totally waterproof when underway or set up, and handles wind and weather super well! I'd definitely buy one again!

Sorry for the Rover photo...We haven't used it on our Cruiser yet since we just got our 62 a few months ago...

Im sure these are functional, but I dont think I could ever get over the coffin like look....

I love my CVT Mt. Shasta so far and they give a forum discount too if you order over the phone. They are very knowledgable and helpful too, great customer service.

Most all CVT tents come with an annex room too which is a big plus.

Well, its between a Kukenam Sky Tepui and the Mt. Rainier with the star gazer option. still trying to decide who to go with

I've had my ARB for close to 10 yrs, still good. Even rolled a truck onto it. I'd by another.

Would love to get one of these for when it is just the wife and I going camping. Something that will happen down the road at some point with a nice big FOXWING awning to go along with it. Got other things I need to do though...

My vote is for the CVT or Tepui as I am with @dkyuss on the whole coffin look. Actually a local dealer has a CVT mounted on a car they are selling (Crossover I believe, it's a chevy dealership so I don't stop there) and it looks pretty nice when we have been stopped in traffic next to it. I am pretty tall so I would need something that my feet and arms aren't touching the ends of when I am sleeping.

HINTERLAND TENTS ARE FAR BETTER QUALILITY THAN THE CVT TENTS AND IN THE SAME PRICE RANGE.
Why all caps? What's your point of reference? Do you own one? Have you owned others?

I'm only asking because I am in the market for an RTT and haven't settled yet on what I want. Even with the good reviews on some tents, I struggle with paying $2k for something manufactured in China, Malaysia etc...

I read the Hinterland site and they say things like "we design and manufacture" but yet they don't come out and say where these tents are made. Do they make them in their Cali location?

Any further insight you have would be great. I plan to call them myself sometime next week.

In my experience with researching i have found that most top brand tents (ex. CVT, Tepui) are manufactured overseas and have pretty much the same base. Tepui has the ruggedized tent which is really just a diamond plated bottom and more heavy duty cover and canvas. the companies basically just give the manufacturers the materials they want to add. CVT has a very similar option as well. Im not sure about ARB because i have no personal experience but i can assume they also have options like that. That being said these tents are very similar to each other with some small things added here and there. Honestly I think the only reason Tepui is more expensive is because is a California based company. CVT being an Oregon based company is fairly cheaper. Same idea with ARB.

I have recently watched a video about the new smittybilt tents and they look just like my CVT tent minus the annex and velcro which replaces the zipper holding the cover on. Obviously there are going to be other little things that are cheaper quality, but my point is these tents are all pretty much the same. Im not trying to bag on any of these companies, I'm just informing you about the reality.

I would spend some time thinking about some options that are a must for your personal application and work from there. I personally would go with CVT because of price and because their customer service is awesome. I ordered a tent and due to some circumstances they ended up driving it down to california for us! great service! I can't really talk for ARB or Tepui because i have little interaction with them but with my experience with CVT i would stick with them. I love my CVT and it has held up to the elements very well. I decided to built a trailer for a TTT and will be using my CVT tent.

Just know that any tent you decide to go with, they are super cool. I love RTTs and think its the best way to camp when your are out on an adventure.

Let us know what you end up going with and post some pics!

Just FYI, I'm 6'7" and have more than enough room in my Mt. Shasta. That was one of my biggest concerns as well.

Anyone have experience wiTh Gordigear?
