Ok so I will hopefully be ordering the outer axles this weekend as I just got the inner tulips from @87warrior.
They arrived in great order, little surface rust that I will sand off and paint with a black rust inhibitor paint, but otherwise in great shape.
So the cheapest places I am seeing the outer axles are all right around $190/ea.
I know I have read good things about McGeorge Toyota
But there is also Boch Toyota, and
there is Toyota of Nashua, or the cheapest
is Earnhardt Toyota in Az (cheapest shipping cost) though slightly higher cost than the others. Anyone familiar with any of these guys?
All are right about the same price and shipping to me is about $65, making grand total just under $450 for everything.

Tried partsouq.com?

I paid $187.15/ea + $40.55 shipping from McGeorge last week. Used CVs should come in today..
You are closer to them than I am. I am on the west coast so shipping is a bit more.

@gregnash
Find a local dealer who will match the online price- the sales tax will be less than the shipping. (you'll have to ask parts manager or counter sales)

Yeah I tried that already. Even tried pulling strings with a buddy that is the parts manager for my local Toyota dealership, he said even his price was still over $292+tax and was 2wks out for delivery. So unfortunately I am going to have to have them shipped to me. I have one Toyota in town with me and then Toyota and Lexus in Reno (30 miles away), the Lexus wanted something exorbitant and the Toyota in Reno wanted the same as my local one.

Slightly off-topic, but since I referenced this thread a bunch I'm going to add a little here. Just pulled and reconditioned my CV's on Sunday. I'd never done it before, so learned a few things along the way. Somehow I got the inner joint apart without removing the snap ring, which caused me not to realize there WAS a snap ring in there. Took a while to figure it out, during which time I was totally puzzled as to why the thing wouldn't go back together (snap ring somehow reseated itself during disassembly). So, pro tip: remove the snap ring when you're taking it apart, and put it back on when reassembling. Sounds basic, I know...

Now I've got a bucket full of old grease. What's the proper way to dispose of it?

Mix it in with used oil and dump it off at the local auto parts store. They will take anything that is petroleum based To recycle.

How much should I expect to pay to rebuild my OEM ones?

I'm a fan of re-booting lol.

So while I have the OE inner tulips and am waiting to order the outer axle assemblies (this Friday) I was thinking of taking them apart to hit them with some rust-reformer paint.
Advisable or is there small parts that I may potentially lose while I wait on the axle assembly?

No small parts to worry about. 1 inner race (star shape) , 1 outer race (ring shape) , 6 bearings, 1 big snap ring for retaining everything in tulip, and 1 c-clip to keep the inner race in place on splines if memory serves (it often doesn't these days).

Ok thanks for confirming. I was looking at a couple different rebuild threads and that is what I thought I was seeing but wanted to be sure. Gotta get a new bucket for the grease and whatnot!

If you'd just listened 6 pages ago . . . ;)

After 100k miles just had one of my OE bands start leaking, threw a McMaster clamp on it.
But requires a special tool correct? Figure for $20 shipped, the McMaster's were cheap insurance.

Well damn. The McMaster band clamps showed up today. Literally ordered in the AM yesterday and had them in like 24hrs. LOL. Now if the axle would show up that quickly.

Awesome!!! Got shipping notification for the axle assemblies on Monday and they are currently out for delivery! Looks like I will be going to the store to grab a bucket, some cans of brake cleaner, a bunch of rags and a 3-jaw puller! Hope to get the axles taken care of over the weekend and then maybe next week sometime get everything replaced!
