Please don't weld the bumper to the frame. The bumper is too strong and will crack the welds or crack the flexible frame right by the welds.

I don't really care what you do, except we will discover the fatigued welds when your truck is winching my truck up a cliff in KY. That would bring the suck. :frown:

And for your entertainment, here's a pic of my shortbus at CMCC last week.

yea that would suck...
I have decided to bolt it on... I just have to take it back off and add some more bracket do dads and drill some more holes... i'm thinking 6 or 8 grade 8 half inch bolts should be enough...:hhmm:

Nice to see you actually still remember how to drive in the woods...:grinpimp:

No more talk from you, until that diesel engine is stabbed in there!

Get to work. I'll need to copy yours someday.

well it's not stabbed in there yet... But it is resting nicely on the floor before it is put to work again...:D

Chris...is the diesel finally ready to install?

not yet, i still have some exspensive stuff to purchase before it will be ready... i need all the under hood stuff still and have to decide on trans/tcase...

this is starting to feel like and epic journey...

and for Jim, my bumper now has 6 grade 8 1/2" bolts and 4 3/8" bolts holding it on :D...

Any progress Chris? Let me know if you need any help, I am living up in Mason now, so it is just a stones throw away. I am more than happy to assist.

Thanks Pete, I'll keep that in mind... Been busy lately and have not had much time to work on the 60...

I'm going to W Virginia on a CORE members only trail ride on some private land and the pics i have seen of the place it looks like some of the best wheeling i have seen on this side of the mississippi... So I am going to try and get my 60 sprung over next week before we leave for WV on the 15... I'll do my best to try and post some pics along the way...

SOA

front of my 60 is now SOA... 1 1/2 hours for the front with some help from Luke Bogner... I wonder if that is some kind of record :D... The back will be done tomorrow or sunday... I also will be finally building a rear bumper too... Got to get it all done before time to go to WV next week to wheel...:hhmm:

That was quick!

What was done for steering?

Yea I couldn't believe we got it done that quick either...:D

Same thing we did for steering 15 years ago... I build a high steer arm for now... Still need to do a knuckle rebuild sometime and plan on some store bought high steer stuff when that time comes around...

I'll pull it out of the garage and get some better pics in the daylight tomorrow....
37" Iroks just waiting on the wheels...:D

Chris...wow, It came together so well. If you need any last minute help getting anything ready before you leave tomorrow, I have time after 5 today and can assist you.

I look forward to pictures of how she performs!

So these pics are supposed to be kinda top secret :p.... The place we wheeled in WV is private land that one of the CORE members actually help pay the property taxes on... they are doing what is called selective logging on the property and there is a logging road that winds up the mountain and we wheeled the creek that the road crosses a few times as u head up the mountain...

There are not any pics of me on the trail cause when we arrived on Thursday night my 60 would not start when i went to unload it off the trailer... Missed with it some Thursday night and got it started and unloaded... then friday morning it would not satrt again, thought it was a charging problem, then maybe bad battery cables etc etc... long story short, it was the starter and didn't get one till sunday morning... So i took pics and was the designated spotter on Friday and Saturday and got to wheel for a little while on Sunday... You can see in the pic of my 60 on the trailer that i managed to bang up the driver side some more :D....
