You need to pick up a scan gauge do the temp gauge mod or install some sort of aftermarket temperature gauge. The dash gauges are far from accurate. They have an acceptable range where they don't move. When they do move you are already in the danger zone. This will save your headgasket.

Haven't really looked at it anymore and there still has been no spot on my driveway... i wonder if it had something to do with my truck sitting on the little bit of an angle at your place...

Well after many nights spent laying on a creeper and sitting in the garage I have decided it is time to retire the 60... The frame rust is just more than i want to deal with... I'll be parting the 60 out and using anything i can on the new(to me) trail rig...

So the new trail rig is going to be a 96 fj80 that just kinda fell in my lap last week and i couldn't pass it up... I will need to come up with a name for her and there is a whole list of things i will be doing to her in hopefully the near future... This has also become the diesel swap truck now too...

lift... 4"-6" with a little body lift maybe...
tires... planning on 36/37 ish range...
gears...
bumpers/sliders/armor...
thinking of painting the roof white to help with the heat...
some interior upgrades too...

This is just a start because we all know that the list just keeps growing...

I will be starting a new thread for the 80 at some point too...

Sold the Iroks... Now it is time for a lift for the 80... Anyone have any suggestions? I'm thinking the 5" TJM depending on cost of the kit...

The next question is should i buy a kit or just piece it together? I'm trying to be my usual low budget self here... I'm thinking just springs and caster plates and i can make/modify anything else i might need...

Looks like there are some ome coils on proffitts close out page. I can't remember all the coil numbers for 80s. $125 a pair though.

Nothing exciting really... She runs good, but i got to get the exhaust fixed, it drives me nuts...
I found gears for the front for a good price, should be here in a few days...
Found a source for the Michelin XMLs i have always wanted...
Got some pretty good ideas for bumpers and sliders...

Hey Chris..I took my 80 to Flowtek in Mason a few weeks ago to fix a leak between the cats. Took it there a morning and they made quick (20mins and no appointment, but I did call ahead) work of it and didn't even have to take any of the exhaust components. I dealt with a guy named Jamie, there number is 770-0060 and the address is 7561 Easy Street, Mason, OH 45040. I know you do most welding work yourself but it was well worth it so I just wanted to pass along the info.

Keep me posted on when you have the running boards off. The parts in question are the end caps on the rear.

Well i'm finally getting around to the 60 and getting her ready for her last trailer ride... most of the big parts are sold or are spoken for...

What's left....
OME springs, shackles, and shocks(rears shocks are questionable)
rear bumper
good air cleaner parts
rear axle minus the third
stock front inner an outer axles shafts
motor parts minus the head
radiator
and any interior bits and pieces... heater control trim piece is cracked...
seat belts are good
dash switches
cluster
I have 2 good lift gates
the tailgate has minimal surface rust
2 good rear side windows
all the door glass is good
2 year old gas tank, from Toyota on the recall
etc etc

just ask about anything else you might be interested in...
i can get pics of anything if needed...

I'm hoping to get her gone by the end of the week... Sorry for the short notice, if you want something let me know... make me an offer and i can hold on to the parts until we can get together...
I would prefer to not have to deal with shipping any big items...

Hodgie, you got a driver door that is not rusted at the top front of the door, where the upper window frame goes down into the door shell?
