A dirty jack is a dangerous jack! If you mount your jack on the outside of your vehicle it is a good idea to keep it covered with a quality cover. Dry lube is great to cover the entire running gear with as it will not attract dirt and grime. Any of you who have tried the neoprene covers know that they are not UV stable and fall apart quickly. i heard somebody talk about mounting it right below the rear seats... anyone do that? does anyone sell brackets for that?
 
Mine are stowed between the wall and water heater, in the corner of the garage, works well, they haven't fallen over and have never heard them rattle. IIRC there are at least two, but one may have a bent shaft, it has been several years (maybe a decade :redface:) since I last inspected them?
