I’ve also been growing our OEM parts inventory and our catalog of CruiserMatt products at a rate of about a new part or two every month. I’ve also been adding more and more OEM service parts to the website but they are only a fraction of what we keep in stock. We are carrying all the common service parts.
Please reach out for your parts needs, even if it’s only a $5 part it supports us.

I also got another shop project earlier this year. My guys and I have been having fun tinkering with this piece of junk. One day it will be a pretty painted truck with the shop name painted on it. For now it’s a test mule for my crazy ideas

Approaching 5 year anniversary!!
Looking like we’ll make it.
Yes, we need some matching shirts

Congratulations Matt and all the gang!

I like the new sign very much. It was a good idea. You just need a few more LC's around. And maybe a flatbed 70 series pickup to run around for parts.

the sign is actually photoshop... testing ideas.
And no, I will absolutely not be buying any 70 series pickup trucks. we also completely avoid "running around" for parts. That is for people who don't know how to plan :)

Seems like it was just yesterday you were contemplating taking the leap. So happy for you.

Tshirts.....nice heavy tshirts for sale

The next big milestone is Cruiser outfitters-style parts company and become the biggest parts retailer for East coast Cruiser owners. I also really liked Wits End’s style with OEM parts “kits“ and convenience-factor, clean easy website, and am working on emulating that with our own listings. But with fast fulfillment, and not stealing people’s money obviously

We stock a ton of parts already. However for some reason we get almost zero retail parts sales to Floridians. 99% of our parts sales are to Austin Tx, Denver and PNW obviously the highest Cruiser densities.

Where are you people buying your brake pads, belts, air, fuel and oil filters from? Did you know you can buy them from us?
If anyone would like to provide feedback on how to earn your business I am all ears, is it easier ordering (online)? Is it simply lack of marketing? Our prices are the same as everyone else so I know it’s not that.

IMO marketing
Most know you as a repair shop not a parts supplier.

I agree with @Broski, marketing. If I didn't PM you about a weird plug connector you had mentioned in a thread I wouldn't have known you sold anything. Now I regularly visit your site to see what's on offer. I really appreciate the one off custom parts like the extended clevis for using an 80s booster and wiring harnes adapter to connect new brake master to old an older harness. I think parts "kits" are a great idea. I typically get parts from Toyota dealers when on sale and when free shipping is offered, hitting RockAuto for basics when they can supply Aisin or other OEM suppliers, partsouq and of course Cruiser Outfitters. I spend/waste a lot of time doing this, but that comes with the territory.

As a diesel 70 series owner and east coaster I'm constantly on the look out for a good repair shop and parts supplier, one that knows and cares about these trucks. I can imagine answering the phone and filling orders must take up an immense amount of time, and I'm hesitant to just pick up the phone and call. Ordering online is so much easier and having a clean, streamlined website really helps. Now that I know you carry and/or are willing to supply more parts I'd be happy to reach out for with an order the next time I need something.

I didn't even realize that you had a web site 🙄

That's been mentioned more than once. :D Personally I think there is much more low hanging fruit I'm the Cruiser realm than to create an answer in search of a problem i.e. yet another online retailer with the same 90% product portfolio overlap. But what do I know, I'm a just a guy that loves Land Cruisers and parts, that will no doubt be my own demise... buried with my Cruisers and parts. :D We watch the market closely, when some play checkers, we transition to chess. My milestone is continue being the milestone you hope to emulate in a few more years. ;)

Do you even realize how tact-less this sounds, especially in my thread? And with someone who has spent a ton of money with you over the years with almost zero reciprocation?

I have no Dog in this fight, but it sounded the other way around to me 🤷‍♂️

And it make no sense for him to use your shop 2k miles away or by parts from you that he already has.

In order to build a business like Kurt's you would literally have to take customers a way from him !

I like you both and hope you both have continued success!!

Settle down there tiger. I'm giving you advice, albeit unsolicited. If your going to mention being the next us by name as a "milestone", I think it's fair and appropriate for me to chime in. We've purchase parts from you, we've forwarded customers your way for products we don't offer or items that didn't make sense for us to service. I didn't realize there was a trade deficit.

You're young, you have energy, you have apparent access to capital. Be your own business and strive be something that makes you the milestone, not the other way around. The 21 year old version of me wouldn't set out to create what we have now, that path is beaten with more following suit. Find legitimately unique offerings, i.e. that low hanging fruit and offer something missing from the LC community.
