Why not just use all studs/nuts or bolts? They are all the same thread I think... Not completely OE but more consistent?

"Since I'm taking my manifold off to check that the 'F' is in the right orientation and retorquing, I thought I'd ask about the new style end bolts on the exh. ears. Spike strip has the same style but don't think yours does. They are black 14 mm hex, and have a raised area next to the washer that digs in as you tighten, the others are 17mm and look normal. The manual calls for 33ft lbs for all, but it would seem like the 14mm should be less"

There is no need to take off the manifold to see the embossed 'F" on the manifold gasket. The "F" on the latest Toyota manifold gasket can clearly be seen when the manifold is installed... I don't know if the old ones had the "F" or not.

The two smaller TOYOTA end bolts on the manifold are hardened bolts designed to take that torque and the heat of the manifold. I wouldn't recommend ever using an aftermarket bolt to replace those... asking for trouble that's for sure.

A small parts addition....

If those bolts and nuts for the straight-pipe are OEM and you want everything to be Toyota no matter what, then they are a good choice. But since that straight-pipe ain't OEM, my recommendation would be to replace that bag of bolts and nuts with all stainless steel. The exhaust heat burns off the cadmium plating in "no time" and those bolts become rust bombs seemingly in a blink of the eye.... at least that is my experience. 3/8" course thread SS bolts work well... and never rust.

The disadvantage to all studs is it makes re-doing the manifold later a big PITA. It's dead sexy on the engine stand, but very annoying when trying to slide the mani off 8 studs, and the 3 downpipe studs, while clearing the brake booster and PS pump.

Got it, thanks for saving me a big hassle. About to redo my whole exhaust.

Hijack over, please resume normally scheduled Toyota parts viewing.

Great thread.....subscribed...

Not sure if they deliver overseas.

They now have an arrangement with an Australian exporter who's a specialist in AUS-USA freight.

Small parts ship DHL, larger ship ocean freight, both cost a metric chit tonne of money and GST is unavoidable, in most cases.

If they don't I can pick up and ship it to you.

How close are you, mate?

You subscribe to the philosophy that a friend of a friend is a friend of your own?

Bahahaha.

@beno I ordered and received those bolts from CDan. I'll get part numbers off the bags if I still have them. But they are OEM.

@Output Shaft thanks for the info. How will I see the embossed F, in Beno's pic it looks like it would be hidden. I haven't looked but will later this afternoon to see if I can see it. Bought everything ummm sometime in the spring or summer...

Interesting. Never seen those black ones. The ones I have are numerical. My choice. :)

I think I speak for everyone when I say, we want what you have, new h55, new light holder, new oil pan, new oil dipstick holder and so on! I don't know what numerical is.

It was on backwards! seemed symmetric when I looked at it but flipped it and it gave me a chance to put anti-sieze on the bolts and get those end ones torqued properly. Now the F and arrow are visible. Thanks all

WTF are those end mani bolts? Look like acorn nuts?

BTW, Mr. T will insist that a 61030 (M10x30) bolt is correct for the end mani bolts, but they are 1mm too long, so they crunch into the headbolt before the gasket is fully compressed.

The better PN is 91651-61025 for the end manifold bolts.

You're welcome.

Yes GST sucks.

I live about 100km south of their shop and am up that way regularly.

I subscribe to the philosophy of helping others, even if I don't know them personally. We are all here because of a love of Landcruisers, I want to see this thing run as much as Beno does.

I will be using the OEM hardware on either end. As well as OEM donut gaskets.

Wow. Thanks, BENO, Jim...

This thread is better than the 2nd season of "The Walking Dead" ...
