New Bumper is less mess

Appreciate the good words. I haven't bothered with the rear since I will be replacing the bumper when the clouds gather a bit more rain water. I'm also waiting to see this so called Red eye swing out they keep talking about in the blue room

Finally did the BHLM!

For jack stands, get the biggest ones you can find as well. Also keep in mind that the load rating they have is usually per pair, not individually. After reading this thread, i am ridiculously paranoid about being under the truck.

If i am going to have both the wheels off on one side of the truck, i use both of the 3ton rated jack stands, i leave a good bit of weight supported by the jack itself (floor jack) and then i also place a tire/rim under the frame on the side i am working.
I want to buy 6ton stands that go a little bit higher than what i have.

So such thing as too safe when you are trying to keep a 6Klbs truck from crushing you to death.

i 've seen you use double jackstands before, and now I know why. Great post and good tips. You can never be too carefull.

Installed a dedicated powerlett plug for my arb fridge and wired my reverse lights to my rear bumper lights.

 just want to clarify, just in case things are being misread. I don't keep tire changing equipment neither at my house or my office building. You'll notice the other car being worked on next to me and I this is not the sort of place I let work in my car but I want it tires on that day for personal reasons. We build a 280 almost from scratch in my house garage and yes I know about safety and what not to do, but I was not going to tell a legit business "how to" install my tires being that they do it day in day out.

Oooooooooooh. Black headlight mod..........

I don't believe that Layton was targeting you, Renaldy, I think he saw this an opportunity to remind us all to be carefull.

apologies if it came across as too defensive. Just want it to make sure no one gets the wrong impression if skimming through the thread, was not directed to Layton or anyone specific. All good

Glad to hear that you are mindful of safety Renaldy. Now you just need to re-think EVER bringing your rig to that place again for ANY reason. If I had rolled up and saw my junk on 3 floor jacks and all 4 corners off the ground, I would have had a fit with these guys. :hillbilly:
