Smoking is almost gone so the ashtray can go. Maybe a Juul holder or... Other than USB port which is bad for reasons above... there isn’t much I’d put there. It’s almost useless.

k, lemme rephrase, "what switches/plugs would you put here?"
None, It seem in-practical like others have said running new wires to the door / then if you plug something in there you have wires hanging off the door when you open it. Or worse the wires get pulled when the door is opened and or pull some thing out the door. Just saying

I like ashtrays. They hold things like change, screws, etc.

Passenger rear most ashtray for usb/accessory port with an Anderson connector would rock. I kinda made one that recesses back. My Fridge plug's into the anderson. I recessed it back so they don't stick out too far and get in the way of my gear.

I'm guessing none of the naysayers have actually installed USB in the ashtray. I've been running this way for a few years in my LX450 with none of the problems people seem to dream up. Sure, the wiring was a pain but other than that it has been a great solution for the kids power needs.

In contrast, in my Landcruiser I wired USB in the console. The size of the USB ports requires them to be installed low in the console. They are hard to reach and there is always something on the floor in the way. Eventually both of the ports I installed got kicked out into the console. I just replaced them this past weekend and expect the same thing to happen again.

I keep my key for the receiver hitch pin-lock there.
That & spare CR2032 batteries.

Rear 1/4 one has extra hairbands (fancy rubberbands) - for fishing rods.

I like the USB idea in the back for the kids but do make sure the USB's are Apple chipped to get the full 2amps as most are not.

I suspect the cheap USB ports I used do not meet the Apple reqmts. The quality is probably why they failed too. When I puts new ports in the Landcruiser I went with standard cig lighter sockets. The sockets themselves can handle up to 15 amps (if wired correctly) and I can use any USB plug-in that meets my needs. I went with these ones:

The other thing I get with lighter sockets is flexibility. I'm not stuck with USB-A. It's also cheaper than a Blue Sea or similar solution at $25 a pop. When the time comes I'll be doing the same in the LX450.

I had USB ports in all the ashtrays in my 91. I didn't want them in my 97 because they were more of a hassle getting in and out. My kids used to keep their phones in the rear doors, but every time they opened a door, the phone would hit the ground.

A 12V cig adapter will foul the door handle in the rear doors, but works on the passenger front.
In short, there are better places to add power.

I just want my high clearance radius arms. The console
Is also interesting.

+1 to what @jonheld said.

I’m far more in favor of a high amp inverted / powerstrip all the way out back for real use than anything else.

He!!, I’d add one to power my random junk over any 2nd row thing - I’ve had like ~30x people rode in the 2nd row since these are now ~20yr old s-Box rigs.

This is an albatross item - people may say they want it, but when you drop a pricetag it’ll clap like a vacuum.

100% why I never made the A-pillar gauge pod.
People talk, but the $$$ never walks to the bank.

Sorry, but nobody will $$-back what they say here.
They want to, but the pricetag will kill it.
I wish you luck, but history repeats itself.

Not sure I agree that there isn't anything that can be done with this space and if you did, no one would buy it. I'm certainly buying your console (like take my money yesterday), and while I may not represent the main mud audience, if you found something truly useful for this space I'm sure you would have more of my money.
