What kind of grommet do you use for wires going to roof rack?

While I have my interior ripped out, I thought it would be a good time to run all sorts of wires preemptively for all the doodads I may or may not want in the future. One of those things is to run wires through the top for aux lighting etc for the future roof rack. What kins of grommet or other method do you guys use to run cables and keep the water out?

are you talking running wires through the roof? i don't run grommets..don't trust them to keep moisture out. i use a metripack fitting made for running through panels. no moisture on either vehicle and have been using it for years

Sweet! Thanks guys! That looks a lot simpler than I thought it would be. Now to get the courage to make a hole in a perfectly good cruiser roof. :hillbilly: Maybe next week.

Grab a unibit and start drilling!

Take caution where you drill. The moonroof takes up a heckuva lot of space under the roof. More space than I thought it would.

Im in luck cause its all exposed right now after taking out the headliner. I basically have a bare tin interior right now. Just a driver seat and a dash. And guess what? NO RATTLES :bounce: I really do wish that there was no sunroof. That thing has been a pain in the ass ever since I got this thing. For now it seems that all issues are solved until they reappear again to soak what will be a new interior. Also plan to dynamat and insulate the entire cruiser.

I want to run some side aux/utility led lights. I want to run the wires through the rear hatch. Anyone recommend any ideas to run the wire through and keep water out from the seals?

Word. The complete sunroof assembly is pretty enormous.
