I read this development sadly, until I read @JohnnyC poem. Then I wept openly, in a public place.

Only a dog lover would understand.

@HENDOG went thru this with Bowser.

@dusty66 went thru this with Ranger.

The friends of my friends.

My motor in the 45 took a dive this morning, and I had to get it towed to the shop. But it is only a temporary setback. Gunner's health puts things into perspective.

Danny, thanks for sharing once again with us. It can't always be good stuff. But the sharing is what makes this forum so special to me.

Sorry to hear about Gunner. We went through this same situation last month with our dog. They are very special and dear to our hearts. I do believe that there is a special place in heaven for them and we will see them again in time. Our prayers will be with you and your family.

I lost my beloved Molly, a Llewellyn Sitter in December of last year to cancer. She was my buddy for 10 years. Still think about her every day.

I am so sorry to hear about Gunner. I hope he passes peacefully and without pain. Prayers sent for you and your wife Danny.

Thanks Roger!! Sorry for your loss of Molly.

@pngunme

I'm very sorry about gunner. I know how it feels. I've had a lot of dogs. The last one was a rodhesian ridgeback named TORQUE that I had to bury myself on rainy night. It was very sad.

Thanks!! I don't understand why my dogs can't outlive me... It's always hard.

Sorry Danny, so tough to watch a best friend go thru health issues..............

Thanks Tom!! ...and they never complain.

Johnny made me cry as well...

Sadly, this upcoming spring will be the first time, in three years, that I will be able to row and kick my inflatible pontoon, assuming it still holds air. Gunner loved fly fishing with me and swimming next to me, when returning to shore.

We were looking forward to the early April thaw. We've talked about it numerous times... He won't make it... But, he says Chester will be his proxy.

Transmission, transfer case, F&R diff service. Murphy kept me company. Sorry to hear about your dog, our thoughts are with you.

@pngunme : I just now learned of this - and am terribly hurt. I assure you.

I'm 100% knowing what you're right now going through. My late dogger, Grady, forever permanently changed my life. When she succumbed to renal failure (kidney failure), I was wrecked for an entire year, not able to do anything (and I had spent the majority of my daily time nursing her up until that point). And now, not quite 2-years later, the life of me is still gone. I'm knowing my soul, which was joined to her, is not going to come back. Grady is that of my avatar pic (as if she's in the midst of taking a break from painting the FJ40's engine block). ~Marc

Tires are 33x10.50. My shackles are 1-1.5" longer than stock, otherwise no lift, factory suspension.

Did you add shims to either or both axle/s?

No shims were added

Yanked all the rusty, shredded seats from my 71. Installed a wire cup brush on my grinder, and made racket til the wee hours last night. Layed down some T145 ash gray paint tonight. Glad to be done with that portion of seat restoration.

It's spendy stuff, but I am impressed with the apstowerpaint dot com 1K. Hopefully it will be durable.

During my 1 Budweiser break I slapped a F155 sticker on my valve cover.

im sorry to hear about gunner @pngunme . always brought a smile to my face seeing all the pics you put up of you and daboise.

its funny how we as mankind form such a longing to other things, living and not living. growing up i was never a dog person. although i never disliked dogs, i just never had the opportunity or desire to be one. then just after our 1st anniversary, my wife and i adopted a 9 month old white Schipperke. now i cant even imagine not being a dog person.

helps me to realize its not what we have or what we become that will make our lives memorable. its who we surround ourselves with, who we love, and who we share our memories with, and who make them special. its a cruel dark world out there, but family always shines a bright light.

on that note, heres something i never really share, a couple of pics of my family, who make my life bright

The picture you describe as "2nd" seems to be missing.

You are wise beyond your years, Vossie, and very lucky to have so many wonderful and loving relationships in your life!!

I hope you are able to keep in contact with your siblings, in the UK, and cherish that sexy bad guy!!
