Pulled the tub up and over with my hardtop contraption and sprayed the bottom of the tub with color matched Monstaliner. Coated the gas tank cover and Aquala tailgate pieces

Have you checked the clearance on the rear motor mount bolts to the tub floor? Have zero experience with that V8 style rear motor mount but looks like it will be very close to the floor.

Sure did. I mocked up everything with the tub on the frame, tacked it all up then pulled everything for final weld and paint. Good catch though. It's tight!

Got some sliders built today. Now to attach them to the frame....

Got the rear amby doors somewhat aligned. What a PITA by yourself.

Is your CB antenna secured up top? I of not it will scratch your nice paint job.

Was just about to reply and say the same thing. Those fiberglass antennas are flexy, and especially with that spring mount on the bottom, it's going to be slapping your rear quarter and top hard when you get off-pavement. You could put a tennis ball on the top half somewhere, but it's still going to be a nuisance. It will also work better the higher you can get it.

It will be, once my top is on.

Finally got time to plug away at the yellow 40. After rear drums rebuilt and all new brake lines on her I put her rear shoes on.
tackled some of the engine today with installing the desmogged carb from city racer. Attached all the carb linkages. Installed newly powder coated breather.
Big thanks to my good friend @swamp-thing for letting me keep his 40 at the house as a template for what goes where.

Wrestled with this precarious arrangement - 2H out to fix an oil leak and get the front of the chassis properly cleaned before paint but she may not go back in, got a line on a reasonable 12HT...
Time for some motor mounts too 😁
