More than a weeks worth
Smaller tires to bring that first step within range of my aching knee...
New alloy wheels from a 2010 FJ in Arizona... thanks eBay!
Which required 1.25" adapters to clear the tie rod ends...
Should clean the wheels & rustproof more of frame while I'm at it...
Ummm... I think I need a torque wrench for this job...
Wow, I'm gonna need a thinner socket to do this right...
This should be on stands to get under both sides of frame..
Man, did the PO ever rinse underneath this thing?
Hope it still runs without all this grime, dirt and rust on it.
Glad I got the mask on before I started spraying this stuff...
That Eastwood stuff looks pretty decent on the frame.
Those wheel covers look like new now. Shame to cover them up.
Can't believe this rookie got FJ back down on 4 tires & without getting killed.
Those look pretty darn good on the TigerCruiser, let's go for a spin!
Dadgum it, the battery has lost its' charge since February.
Fully charged and ready to go!
Time to put down the hood & burn those spikes off the tires.
What son? There's a fluid leak in the engine? Where at?
Oh no, that's not fluid spraying on the engine, THAT'S GAS!
Is that plain old rubber or a proper fuel line hose?
Wonder what those numbers mean... Great, it's SAE30R6 no prob.
Clamp doesn't seem to be too tight, orrrr POP! not tight at all
What about other side by fuel filter... Oh, it's dripping gas here too.
No wonder the garage always smelled like gas after my weekly rides.
Perhaps a little tightening and a 2nd hose clamp will do... yesss no more leaks.
Time to crank this baby up! A few minutes, no leaks, off to the Lake Road.
So far so good, smooth through town at 30 mph.
Runs nice at 45 mph, why doesn't that Toyota pickup truck pass...
I guess the Tundra must have some respect for his elders.
Quick turnaround at Dowling Pond, still rattles on the bumps.
7.5 miles back, time to wind up that '72 F and let her run!
Engine still has that sweet spot at 55-60 mph.
Speedometer has 100 on it, wonder if anyone's ever run an FJ that fast?
This thing rides a lot smoother than on those 5 year old Super Swampers.
Back in the garage, no odd smells at all. No gas or oil fumes, just a hot engine.
Can't wait to find enough bucks to finish the job, this is gonna be a sweet ride!
And after I get some seats, you can ride with me Koko.
