Some Blingification of the air cleaner.

I have been working on removing all of the various components from a donor air cleaner housing for a while and finally got it done.

Now there is just the air horn, a new connecting hose from city racer and the air cleaner with no brackets diaphragms, flappers or nipples. All powder coated in semi gloss black. Still working on the sticker, the clips and bolt bling. But a good start.

Don't make fun of the rest of the engine bay. Its a work in progress.

Where did you buy those OEM style hose clamps?

Rebuilt the thermostat housing with a couple carb studs in place of bolts. Two new lowers BVSVs, a new thermostat and gaskets.

Turned some wrenches, went on a beer run and spotted this little toy.

Only a few trucks are that color. It is unique to '75. My count is up to four, for sure, on Mud. Most are Yellow 532. 531 is a bit more green/brown, and not so much a, 'safety yellow.'

Also, 1975 is a short model-year, as it began in January, instead of September of '74. Also '75s used the not blue "T" in the middle of the steering wheel, only for that year.

Driving home from the bank tonight in the 40 (ironically, I was withdrawing money to pick up more 40 parts), my front drivers side brake caliper let go...literally sitting in the ATM drive through. Pulled away to loud “clacking” in the front driver side wheel. Limped it 10 mi home with one foot on the brake holding light pressure on the caliper and one on the gas.

In the driveway, I discovered the top bolt was gone. Tried to replace it and figured out why - the new bolt wont even thread.

my question to the peanut gallery - would you trust a helicoil here? Or should I start planning to replace the knuckle?

On a related note - anyone have a drivers side 60-series knuckle they’re looking to part with? If so - shoot me a PM.

thats cast iron - I’ve never welded cast before and not really sure what that would entail, but I’ve always heard it’s a challenge.
