Finished an engine reseal, de smog and general cleaning. Still need to polish the valve cover and add Holley Sniper.

Good looking rig! Are those 35” tires? And do they rub in the rear?Freezing temperatures and a soft top suck. Hardtop and doors are back on for the winter. ❄

In a strange reversal of last week’s wheeling trip, I washed the mud off, threw the hubcaps back on and took the Clustertruck to a car show with my father-in-law’s car club.

Pumpkin run is a huge event in south Jersey hosted in an old 1950’s junkyard. Very cool show with a little of everything - from foreign, to domestic, to military, old and new. I was definitely outnumbered by American muscle, but I managed to find a few kindred spirits in the lineup.

That’s almost 600 miles driven in an FJ40 in the last 2 weeks. I’m way more deaf but in no way disappointed!
quick trip to the store turned into stranded on the side of the road when the clutch went out. Fortunately I had the part in the back and was able to get her back up in no time.

Time to learn to shift without the clutch... that way you can fix it at home.
@cruiserkev - Also interested in your tire/suspension setup
I do need to learn...I somewhat did this though. I was at a red light and when it turned green the clutch went to the floor. I couldn't figure out how to get in first (partially because I was blocking traffic and panicked) so I jumped out and pushed it thru the intersection and then walked a few blocks to a store and bought some brake fluid...filled the reservoir and pumped a few times and was able to get in in third. Quickly jumped the medium and turned around...fortunately I was able to make it the 3 miles back home without stopping. Then this morning noticed the slave was the culprit, which fortunately was the only part I had. Few hours later she is like new.
But yes...time to learn to shift without the clutch as this time I was lucky.
Meh, my 40 is quiet exhaust-wise, ain't no quieting down wind noise at 65 top and doors off though.Sounds like you need better exhaust... no reason for a 40 to be loud... even my 350 is super quiet (carb is the loudest part).

I'll deal with the hearing loss.
Ha Ha - optimist!Bought a few $k worth of various parts despite having zero time to work on it.
