Did I ever mention how much Montana sucks?

I think it was 90 today, I saw 39 on the way to work this morning.
Ryan that is still way better than 110. Might buy land first. I have a friend that is looking outside Billings. Tom

I spent Monday and Tuesday stripping most everything off of my firewall and dash in advance of separating it from the remains of the rest of the tub. But I'm a little stumped as to removing some of the the pull switches, like the headlight, hazard, fan and wiper switches. I was tempted to try and figure it out but that often leads to breaking something. The FSM doesn't seem to cover it, so can anyone give me a hint?
Thanks

There's a small flathead screw in the chrome bezel of the switches, loosen it, then unscrew the bezel from the switch. Drink a beer, repeat on next switch.

Edit, the small screw is in the bottom of the knob, not the bezel.

Thanks! By bezel do you mean the small round collar behind the pull knob? They seem to have 2 very small holes in them. If that's it, I'm going to have to break my really really tiny screwdrivers and buy some really strong glasses at the drugstore. Do the knobs simply pull off?

Yes.

They seem to have 2 very small holes in them.

The screw is on the side of the knob.

you can use those holes to loosen or tighten the bezel using small needle nose.

Sorry, the small screw is in the bottom of the knob, not the bezel, the bezel just tightens the switch to the dash.

Thanks again, I just remembered that I have a brand new fog light switch, so I rummaged that up in my piles and what you're saying is completely clear now. :)

Not sure if I’ve had ‘vapor-lock’ or the old girl is sporting a bad attitude and just don’t feel like cranking back up easily but I slid this on to see if it helps.....

My original plan today was to install the newly rebuilt carburetor by Mark's Off Road. I ended up finding a small crack and intake manifold and decided to remove all intake and exhaust components. Time to start ordering a bunch of gaskets. Also, hope I remember where all the vacuum lines belong!

Today I took a moment to clean up my garage. While doing that, I ran across a bunch of Landcruiser parts and so I decided to make some wall art. Craft time!
I was already going to throw away the temporary wood piece I fabricated a couple years ago for the tailgate opening with the top off, but I thought it would be the perfect background for my wall art. I even let my daughter pull off the tape in the "LAND CRUISER" lettering which came out just ok, but it was just for wall art so I figured it's ok. So here it is.

I had also purchased this poster from Cruiser Corps along with some new door latches and leaf spring bearings. Bought an inexpensive poster frame from Wally World and voila!

So here's my little Toyota Corner I'm starting to form with my wall art. Next I want to get a Toyota themed clock to hang in the garage to remind me how many hours I'm spending working enjoying with the FJ40.

Found it at the Rivers Edge West in Bozeman yesterday, looks like they are selling quite a few of them, I had to ask for an XL from the stock in the back. There were only 2 out on the display.

Decided to figure out where that pesky oil leak was coming from in the back. Rear oil galley Welch plug? Yup leaking from there. Rear main seal? Yup leaking there too. Oil pan gasket? You got it. And the grand finale...the damn camshaft plug. Notice anything weird about it?

Here’s a closer look. And yes that’s a wideband O2 sensor on the exhaust manifold.

Damn thing was installed backwards:bang::censor::censor::censor:. That’s a first for me. Looking forward to all the other Easter Eggs the PO left me to find. Soooo....hows everyone else’s day going?
