Looks like @DetailEnvy is ignoring the Mud mods.

We finally have an overcast day here instead of scorching hot sun. Took this opportunity to polish both of my cars’ headlights and paint swirls.

I bought my LX570 about 18 months ago from a non Lexus dealer. The LX had perfect Lexus service history. The PO was a Dr. I noted there was an odd amount of suspension work done based on the service history. The pump was replaced at 100k, front shocks replaced at 110k, rear shocks at 115k. I bought it with 125k on it. That is a lot of unusual failures. The LC always seemed a little bouncy to me and juddered when going over bumps. At 140k miles (today) I decided to replace the globes. I found two that were bad. One passenger front and one driver's rear. The LX feels 1000% better now. Can't believe how much better it holds the road.

I bet the PO dropped a whole lot of $ only to not find the issue and trade off the LX. $600 and 2 hours later it is fixed.

SNAP!!

I am thinking of getting the globes done ahead of slider installation, albeit with only slight signs of needing them. A bit bouncy, as well as lack of smoothness and slow to achieve H mode. Where did you source the globes?

It was an easy job. I bought them off of ebay from a Japan seller with many positive reviews. You can find them very easy. Just be sure to get front and back part numbers. 41 front and 51 back.

he deleted his post so I am going to let it go this time

Well, literally 20 of his 36 posts have been in this thread advertising his dry ice detailing service. When is there a real consequence? Is it ok for commercial services to advertise in this section?

I don't read every post. Thanks for pointing that out. I went back through this entire thread and deleted all of his posts. He does have posts in the Small Business Forum for those that are interested. That is the correct place for this since.

Here's a tactical tip for those of you, like me, who are fighting the never ending battle against rust in the Midwest and Northeast. I noticed the other day that the paint on the rocker panel where my foot hits getting in and out of my truck (2013 LC) had been worn through, and some rust had started:

Then I removed the plastic strip and noticed, much to my dismay, a bunch of rust bubbles. Solution? Scraped and wirebrushed all the rust off down to the bare metal, and then put a couple coats of oil-based enamel rust protective paint over the whole area and let it dry:

Is it concours quality? Nope, but don't care. Most of where I painted will be covered by the plastic strip anyway, and my truck is "generic gloss black" so it's close enough.

Stay diligent, my friends. The struggle is real.

Pro tip- leave your door open while the paint dries or it could stick hard enough to the door seal to rip it. I put a trickle charger on so I could leave it open overnight and not worry about the battery dying.

Bilstein suspension lift (approx 2"), OME upper control arms. The fit is great, very very minor rubbing on the fender liner and full lock. i think the key is the -35mm backspacing of the wheels. The titanium color is a very close color match to the grey of the vehicle. Actually looks like the same color just a different finish (gloss).
Don't be afraid to take a heat gun to the fender liner to get them out of the way. They are very pliable when you get some heat into them. As a matter of fact, they will melt, which I have first-hand, intimate knowledge of, so don't get too aggressive. ;)

Puzzling that the dry ice guy gets the boot but FNHWheels can post about products on the wheel/tire thread. Seems kinda selective

Really not that puzzling. He was literally posting a bunch of pics of a 40 series he worked on in the 200 series tech section. I have no idea what FNHWheels posted in the wheel/tire thread but I’m going to wager that it was at least in the ballpark of the thread’s intended purpose. Regardless, this conversation also has nothing to do with the thread.

Back to the point, I adjusted my parking brake for a trip to CO and took one last stab at leveling my cruiser lean. I had a few emails back and forth with Cruiser Outfitters (who installed my OME Nitros) and they mentioned that I shouldn’t be having this issue, and it could be related to parking on uneven ground. Turns out it was. Long story long, but I recently moved and my previous parking spot was anything but even. Tried resetting it after the move and it’s held ever since.

You Idahoans are really proud of your potatoes. Nice license plates. 😀

This thread is about what each of us did to our 200, not soliciting what we're doing to other people's 40s, 80s, 100s, 200s, etc. for money.

As far as I can tell, vendors are not forbidden from posting in threads related to the products they sell. A wheel company posting in the wheel thread makes sense. Dry ice guy trying to get customers in the highest traffic thread regardless of the fact that 1) it is off-topic and 2) he has been warned once already, is completely different IMO.

Back on topic...
Today I washed it. Parts have arrived for radiator and water pump swap. It's preventative maintenance. I have no leaks or anything, so I'll probably wait for cooler weather.

What can I say? It's all we have here. Have to be proud of something. ;)

And a blue football field and lots of wicked wind and Napoleon Dynamite.

This is a very real circumstance with KDSS 200's, park on a sloped surface and you'll start getting the KDSS system reacting to that.

OME came out with a tech bulletin on the subject
