Slimline II

nice looking - thank you

so is that the update bracket system that your rack is attached to or the first gen?

If not I wonder what the new bracket looks like and how it compares height wise to the firs gen mounting bracket.

The front runner website photos are nice, however these photos do a better job of real life installs and plus i like looking at cruisers.

That's first gen, it's what i have on my 100. As far as i know the 2nd gen pull the rack down closer to the roof of the truck.

I do like that LED mount on the front... @BTUMAN do you get any glare on the hood when it's on?

Also, i've had my FR for two years. Love it.

Thanks

Doing the paperwork now to pick up a 2015 Land Cruiser (Gray). It was a dealership's GM demo with 7100 miles. I went a whopping 3 months without a Cruiser in the garage.

Installed LEDs in the headlights yesterday. I must say, I was skeptical at first, but after getting them in, I am really impressed. 3,500 lumens per bulb at 6k. and CREE chips. 2 year warranty with a (supposedly) 50,000 hour life.

First impressions: They are MUCH brighter than the halogens they replaced; street signs really pop now. They do not have as much throw as the halogens, but they certainly brighten things up much more than the halogens for things within about 200 yards or so.

Sorry that I don't use better light-lingo, but I'd be lying if I tried to use a bunch of fancy terms. I tried to take some shots, but the bulbs are so bright, the camera has trouble taking the pic. I'll take some better quality pics later.

I little bit but not distracting.

Doesn't get here until Monday. I did go ahead and go to the hardware store and pick up a tungsten carbide bit for those oval holes in your write-up

Been trying to get time to do my internal work light mod for ages, and re-thought it a bunch of times. Found some cheap-but-good work lights on EBay a fortnight ago, and just threw a couple of hours at it this weekend. I'll get some night shots later, but here's the finished product.

I was worried the weight of the lights might have been a bit much for the plastic window surround, but figured that when driving, the lights are sitting on top of the trim, it's only when the tailgate is up that they will be exerting any kind of stress on the plastic. As it turns out, they mount pretty securely and the two switches in the centre worked out pretty neat.

Night shot - that'll make life a bit easier out in the field.....

Very clever! I have a set of similar lights, so I might steal your idea. Where did you tap into the power for the lights/switches?

I forgot to respond on the feet. These are the low profile feet- or second Gen. It is a great rack for those who don't want to have to worry about fitting in Parking Garages or your own garage unless you built a custom home where you can talk the builder into actually making a garage 8 feet - which should be the national standard in my opinion.
