How are you liking the windows vent shades? I'm torn between the inside the window channel/low profile versions and the outside stick ons. Any recommendations are appreciated.
I couldn't find stick-ons for the LX when I was shopping for them. I had them from AVS for both my Highlander and Sequoia and I liked them. Never had an issue.

The Weathertech I ended up getting for the LX are in channel and were a bit challenging for me to get right. You have to get them in there just right and the tolerances on the LX are so tight that initially I couldn't get my front windows completely closed. I eventually got it, but not without breaking a few pieces off the Weathertech, which then got stuck in the channel.

I eventually cleared them and got everything in right and haven't had an issue. They perform for rain as expected. They do however, add a bit of wind noise on the highway. I would still choose to have them though.

Keep in mind, some of the difficulties could have been my own incompetence.

Made the date of 5 July to get the 12.5 gallon LRT auxiliary gasoline tank, the Firestone airbags for the rear coil springs and the Tuson electric trailer brake controller installed. The Airstream 2015 23D International Serenity gets elevated 3" with new Dexter axles along with 12" hydraulic disc brakes activated be a new Dexter brake pump the second week of June. Also upgrading the converter, solar charge controller and the lithium battery.

I think its the original one from 2009 till 143K. Funny thing is that I have had the car now for about 3 weeks as I recently bought it and was swapping the RRT from the range to the 200 series and it died the guy who bought my Range just laughed as he drove away and I was less than thrilled. I got it towed to the shop starter replaced and two days later the starter went out again apparently it was a faulty one with bad contacts. I always stay on top of any work that needs to be done so hopefully its my last issue :D

How did you attach it to the ashtray? I'm planning to do something similar for my ham radio display.
I removed the vent clip attachment and pushed what was left into the ashtray. It might have just stayed like that, but I added super glue to be safe. Hot glue might be a better option to keep your ashtray tip-top. I bet you could probably 3D print or use wood to make plug that would fit into the ashtray slot. That way, you could attach anything to it.

Finished a 2 mth off-road trailer build for a buddy this morning. From chatting around the campfire earlier this year to making this a reality. He never thought it would be possible and he's beyond elated. We're like kids in a candy store seeing it on the road for the first time. Still some accessories to add, but all the core stuff is there.

Had to snag a pic of it on my own rig before handing it over.
