I have the same one and it’s rad. Fast setup, fast pack-up and no poles. It’s easily the most robust and stout awning I have ever used. the only cons are the weight and the the fact that every awning looks terrible on a vehicle.

Agreed. Nothing attractive about RTT or an awning. My wife made this comment. “The bush company?! Good thing you are married, with that on you car, you may never see bush again” :).

I’m too old to care. 🤷‍♂️

Finished install of my Warn Zeon Platinum 12-S with relocated control box on Slee accessory shelf.

Growing up in Anchorage, AK gives you a different perspective on the term "Bush". Up there it's similar to the Australian Bush where you are out in the middle of nowhere. The only difference (other than the snow ;) ) is that you have to fly everywhere. Hence the invention of the term "Bush Pilot". In 1979, an enterprising woman (Edna Cox) opened the Great Alaskan Bush Company, a club which catered to.....uh......"gentlemen" seeking a certain form of entertainment. I shall neither confirm nor deny that I visited the aforementioned establishment in my youth. I shall also neither confirm nor deny that I was a gentleman at the time that I may, or may not, have visited.

Blazing. 30 seconds if I’m casual about it. Between that and the RTTx, I can be setup in about 2-3 minutes. That includes getting the ladder out of the back. Pack up is not much more, you just have to take the time to push in the side panels on the tent.
In terms of weight I splurged on the awning @ 61lbs. If you consider the RTTx is only 129lbs and I never had to buy the pioneer rack, I think I’m still ahead on rooftop weight.

Wow. Thats super light for a tent. 👍🏼

Oye! Ima send you some penicillin… ! ;)

What made you go with the Warn over a Comeup? How difficult was relocating the control box?
I didn’t really look at Comeup. When I was looking at winches, I was worried about fitment and ease of access to control box and clutch lever. It was mostly the relo kit and the remotes ability to control the clutch that made me pick it.

The relo kit for the control box is pretty easy to install. Hardest part is deciding where to put it and how to mount it. The Slee shelf worked pretty well.

I hindsight, the manual clutch lever access is not a big issue with T13 bumper. I also wish I had researched the warn remote a little more. The battery in it drains when it’s switched off. Takes about two weeks to be dead. It works while charging so it’s not fatal but definitely annoying. There is a mod to fix that. I posted a link here on that topic.

Well you know what they say: what happens in the bush stays .. .ahhhhh ... oh never mind.

Finally got around to installing my Prinsu roof rack...Was a little apprehensive due to reading some of the challenges and "gotchas". Watched a few videos, read the thread here on IH8MUD, took my time and things worked out just fine.

Swapped out the plastic oil filter housing for the Tacoma aluminum one. I like the Jowett housing but this is only $28 and I have a brass oil draining tool already and don't use the plastic thing that comes with the new filter.
