Over the long weekend I took a step back toward stock configuration. Pulled the bull bar and replaced the stock bumper. (Bull bar is listed in the classifieds if you're interested.)

Now things get interesting. My intent was to pull the 2.5" lift and replace with a 0-1" Bilstein 6112/5160 setup, then to replace the Method wheels with Tundra steelies (or Fifteen52 Nieto steelie-look alloys) with Michelin Defenders. But, I dunno, I'm kinda digging how it looks now. Lots of fun choices to be made.

good call.
I am just not a fan of the bull bar look.

Gadammit! SOOOO much cleaner and classier. nicely done.
Useless for actually loading stuff and dogs. I load 5 Siberian sled dogs I don't care for tailgating by -40 or by 90 above; I have a great deck for that. As to loading stuff for the transfer station 15 miles away the wonderful gate hits you in the goonies every time you want to reach for the garbage or other stuff you're trashing.

You want a truck, get a truck, you want an SUV get that, and just 'cuz it's been around for 50 years don't make it right. I could quote you chapter and verse of idiocies Ferdinand P has as legacy that folks swear by just because it's always been there. Five gauges you can't see 2 of them, a wiper in the rear with no washer...

Sorry count me out on this one

Dude, that is THE ONE sacred thing about Land Cruisers. :stop: You irate (almost) everybody and even inspired the creation of a dedicated thread. Just drop it. 😅 This is coming from someone that traded-in his 200 for a 300, does not necessarily miss the tailgate, but still admires it.

If they would make that tailgate lie flat down against the bumper; meaning you could actually REACH stuff that's piled in the back of the second row seats, or reach the hook ups for the dogs I would (drop it). As it is, and apologies, it sucks as a concept or design. Sort of like the new Ferrari EV Luce, albeit cheaper, or the 992 shaver for a gear "stick" or the removal of the AM radio or ... on Porsche.

Yeah I love the tailgate until I have to get something that's just behind the second row of seats (I have t-rex arms).

Get a good set of lifts to wear. I believe in you!

Just stocking up to do stuff to our 200 series.

I’m a little bummed, they showed the metal can diff fluid part number but they shipped the new stuff. According to the gal at the counter, ordering the old part number automatically orders the superseding part number. I’ll have one diff that ends up with a mix of new and old, I’m assuming that’s fine but if not please chime in.

I tried both new and old part numbers for the t-case but neither was available. Thankfully, I still have a few cans of the unicorn tears left.

One out of four O2 sensors didn’t come out good and the thread on the bung was stripped.
Thread chasers are godsend.

Replaced with new exhaust gaskets as well upon reassembly.

How old were they? Any codes?
200k+ miles and no codes, just part of the baseline maintenance I am doing to make sure it runs smoothly for the next 100k at least.

I thought they degrade overtime.. it’s probably not a bad idea to replace them every 100K.

O2 sensors last a long time, unless the engine went through prolonged misfires which heats up the exhaust more than the average temperature it handles. It also degrades if the probes gets exposed to a coolant leak which damages probe.

All 8 spark plugs and ignition plugs are new so thought process is might as well replace them.

I use Aisin for the trans fluid and valvoline for front, center, and rear diff. The metal can of stuff (hydraulic fluid) I get for my AHC. 🤷🏻‍♂️
