Does anyone have any experience with teq customs? Im looking for a different way to upgrade the stock halogen headlights on my 09 200 tlc. Ive already swapped the halogen bulbs to h9 in the lows and 9011 in the highs.
Ive already burned through a cpl 9011s..
Any input and suggestions is apappreciated.
TEQ does great work. Hunter and I @rigid_retrofits_llc are the main two guys left doing retrofits for the 80 series. If you're shopping around, I've got an LX but started buying up some used LC headlights recently to do some "for fun" builds. I've got both 08-11 and 13-15 that are close to being wrapped up. They'll be cheaper, relative term, than my normal commissioned builds because the build specs are set in stone and not going to be changed. Plus no downtime if you dont have an extra set to swap onto the rig while yours are being built. If interested, you're welcome to hit me up on the business IG or here.

Quad projectors and custom DRLs across the board.

I have noticed a slight hum/quiet grind that increases slightly when I turn right and goes away when I turn left. I was guessing front wheel bearing assembly drivers side. Did you do any additional verification or could you tell the bearing was loose when the wheel was off the ground? Just wondering before I dive into the repair. If you don't mind sharing parts you ordered since mine is on the same side. I drive a 2018.
Chances are you won’t feel any looseness in the bearing by hand this early. If you can run the truck on a lift with a stethoscope you can be more definite in your diagnosis.

Thanks, are they led projectors? Where your previous bulbs halogen? How is their performance?
They were projectors and previous were halogen. The performance is great once you get them aligned correctly. I drove the truck across the country and felt like they were a little low. It's a different light pattern than a regular bulb which takes some getting used to.

I plan to do my LX eventually with them. Upgrades are on hold until the garage gets finished.

I didn't do additional verification other than the standard shimmy the tire/wheel north south and see if it wobbles and the odd humming noise from the left front. It seemed to appear around 47mph, and faded when i turned harder to the left at speed, causing body roll to pull weight off of that side.
Parts were these, but I didn't use the lug bolts (just in case spares): This was from Lexus Parts Now - could have shopped around for a better deal most likely, but they were half the price of my local stealership (hate you Pohanka) on everything and delivery fit in the schedule I wanted for the replacement. I did also buy a bearing press kit from Amazon and made that work. You also need a 250 ft/lb torque wrench. I think it calls for 254ft/lbs, but that is within the tolerances iirc.

Chassis ears are amazing for tracking down failed wheel bearings. I had a rear axle bearing going bad and the top of one of the stationary races was the problem area.. which meant with the vehicle on stands and the wheels “hanging” there was no noise through a stethoscope. With the weight back on the wheels it sounded like world war 3 through the chassis ears when I got around to that bearing.

Picked these up from a week at NVcoatings in Chantilly Va today. They're standard Tundra takeoffs, but media blasted and powder coated satin black..
I have DBA rotors to install this weekend, fresh pads, and new kicks. I went with 275/70r18 BFG KO3s.
Not sure where I'll use the toyota logo (I have a '15 LX570), but they were kind enough to blast the DIY white powder coat off of it that I did about 15 years ago for one of my 4runners and match it with that same satin black.

Looks great.. might want to verify your lugs fit into their spots on these before you get excited to go install. I've found that PC is thick enough to cause issues with tight clearances like that if it isn't masked. I had some wheels for a previous vehicle powdered and both the lug holes and center bore turned into major inconveniences.

Torque also needs to be checked a few times as the powder coating compresses with use.

Here's the mid install comparison. I did spacers, rotors, pads, new wheels all around today, but this was the only pic I took. Now to address rubbing and work on blacking out s***.

Edit: Ha, looking at this pic, I'm messy af. I have stuff all over the place, but whatever.... it all went back to the right spot.

I’m surprised you’re getting rubbing. I thought this was a pretty common size for the 570.

How big of a spacer? Where are they rubbing?

I have the same size tire. I had a 1.25” spacer at all four corners because it looked cool, but I didn’t care for the scrub radius…especially on trails. Anyway, they’ll rub without moving the front of the wheel well liner forward. I also had to remove the front mud flaps. Looks great. Congratulations

Took my car to the Car Care Nut shop (TCCN Automotive) for a trans drain/fill and they left me with a leaky drain plug. Guess that shop is not god-tier after all 😂😂

1.25" spacer, rubbed on the mudflap when in full turn. Some people will cut that, I just removed it and put the screws back
