I had the mud flap delete but ended up adding rubber mud flaps after finding a lot of chip paint on my horizon trailer. Not pretty but I'd rather keep damage to a minimum.

@socalmtbiker....I'm looking at doing something similar for both front and back. I want to be able to "roll" up the flaps when wheeling (secured with a strap) and "unroll" them for daily driving and post wheeling. Rally cars used to do this back in the day and it was very effective....no more ripped off flaps when reversing offroad, but coverage when onroad.

Hopefully this image shows up. I want to do something similar to this for both front and rear flaps. Just need to find a candidate material that is flexible enough to roll, but sturdy enough to not flap around in the wind when extended. The JAOS flaps fit the bill, but are absurdly (prohibitively) expensive ($500 for 4)

I wanted the same thing but ended up with what I posted. It's fairly easy to add and remove before/after trips.

First good wheel compression in an off camber rut and I'll bet that flap will get torn off.

Clear stone guard for your trailer :Amazon.com: 3M Scotchgard Clear Paint Protection Bulk Film Roll 12-by-60-inches: Automotive this stuff works well.

Tread plate for your trailer: you can use silicone to mount this stuff: Amazon.com: RMP .125 3003 H22 Aluminum Diamond Tread Sheet, 12" x 36" Brite Finish: Industrial & Scientific
Man, forgot about the 3m stuff. I used that on some other applications. Thanks

Traded the 100 for an lr4 and got stuck in the surf.

Kidding of course but I was at this beach a week before this guy did this.

^ Saw that on Fox news the other morning- LOL bet his buddies are giving him due punishment

That sucks. Now that truck is going to have all sorts of electrical issues and probably won't make it past 150K. Hmm...does that mean salt water has no effect on Land Rovers?

One from a 2002 Land Cruiser with Home Link. Color difference in picture isn't accurate, color is coordinated.

This is a two wire system. I took the red "hot" and tapped into the overhead map light circuit. I took the black ground and grounded it to the anchor bolt bracket that holds the overhead unit up. Unit is hot full time, so I don't need to turn truck on to open doors. Some may say it will be easier for a thief to get into your house. Truth of the matter, if they want in, there are a multitude of ways to get into a house...
It took more time to figure out how to reset and program the dang thing than it did to wire it up and install it.

Nice!

What did you get?

Went with an Alibaba special. I have always wanted a hard shell tent but couldn't justify the cost. I am sure the big name brands are more than worth it but so is this one at half the price.

Did a complete stripdown and buff today in the air conditioned shop at work on my day off. Used a couple new products which I love and a couple which have been staples in my arsenal for years! You know you're doing something right when random sales people "hunt you down" because they see your truck in the parking lot and just need to know who owns it...

Products Used:
  • 3M Perfect-It claybar on literally everything, paint, glass, trim.
  • 3M Perfect-It Polish with 3M Black polishing pad
  • Meguiar's M09 Swirl Remover with Meguiar's tan finishing pad
  • Meguiar's Ultimate Liquid Wax
  • Finally a final wipedown with Meguiar's D156
  • Tire foam and trim dressing from my bodyshop's cabinet
Got to try out my new Dewalt Rotary and Porter Cable D/A Polisher!

The last two pics are weird as the foreground is out of focus so it looks like the paint is hazed or has overspray, which it doesn't!

I got it back from the body shop. The 100 tangled with something bigger than itself (forklift).

I love this truck. What a beautiful color. Great job keeping up with the paint. It's just flawless.
