That little bitty blue spec, that is the pillar pod. Second time using it is every bit as messy as the first time. Even with taking necessary precautions, I still walked away looking like a coal miner. However, the result is acceptable, even after only 1 coat of this stuff. 98% is covered, the rest looks like Ehren from Terror Taxi in Jackass, patches are quite visible due to me not applying enough material.

Seeing STEDI being deployed always brings a smile to my face.

Love my illegal in the U.S. STEDI high-beam driving light trigger harness! :)

*Added a TOYOTA grille from Trail Runner Customs. I moved the 9 inch lights out as far as I could so I can see more of the grille

*Had custom silver TRD Center cap stickers made.

*I'm a roof basket fan for our trips. We leave the Cruiser in a couple of different airport storage units out towards Moab / CO and fly out for trips. Most of them have 7-foot tall doors and I got sick of taking the roof basket on and off with the annoying little hat brackets and 8 threaded knobs. Took 15 minutes. I tried Thule quick clamps designed for their cargo boxes and they work perfectly. Welded up some platforms for them to sit on to mimic how they are used on Thule cargo boxes so they distribute the weight better and this thing is rock solid up there on the factory crossbars. Takes under 90-seconds now and I leave the gear attached to the basket when I remove it. Front locker going on in 2 weeks. Have a good week!

I can't believe I'm saying this but I popped the Raptor lights that came with the grille in for giggles briefly and wired them up to an external jump box to see how they look. I don't hate them. HMMMMMMMMM.............I know there are strong feelings against these in certain groups!

You do you - there are always certain groups with strong feelings no matter what!

Yep, at my advanced age, I agree! I will wire them up perhaps with a relay and switch in the cab based on my mood. :)

I believe the new Tacoma includes raptor lights as an option so can we start calling them Toyota grill lights?

Very neat. That was what I was considering and weird coincidence but I have some CDT cups from a couple old component sets. Appreciate the info! Definitely post up the finished product please.
This is after one coat of Flock-it. Those imperfections (bumps) are excess fibers that can only be brushed off when it fully cures, it was only about half way cured when I carefully test fitted it. I was too antsy.

She's running again! Wires are done up, went over to mechanic and we put her back together again. Fired right up and purring like a kitten; no codes.

I recently did new coils and sparks, air filter, cabin air filter, throttle body cleaned. Mental note to do the idler pulley and ps pump next timing belt.

Now to get some Cooper st maxx 285/75/r16s. 😁

Thought I was just changing a CV axle today. Got in to move it in the driveway and realized that my (florist) wife’s water spill on Friday was NOT drying out….

Also got the CV axle done once the carpet was shampooed, pressure washed, and hung up to dry….

Since I’m keeping my AHC, finally got the King KTRS-79s from Australia installed. Did the rear PerryParts bumpstops while I was at it.

And the big one, AHC fluid/globe replacement. Fluid was easy, the globes wouldn’t come off until we started spinning them with a hammer and chisel.

The old fluid was darker than anything I’d seen online, it might be from 1999 and still original to the truck. No records of AHC ever being maintained, but while the ride was a bit bumpy, it still went into H/N/L (slowly) on the 25 year old parts.

Drives like an entirely different truck now, it feels so much more planted on the road and I wish I’d done it sooner. Going to try and calibrate the pressures with TechStream tonight.

Still on the 25 year old bushings, going to try and do the fronts and maybe the rears in a few months if I can get them off without cutting into the body.

Here she is after a touch up phase, in about 22 hours I will "brush off" the excess and apply an additional coat of "milkshake" (epoxy with fiber powder mixed in) on the inside to ensure it is completely dead acoustically or as close to as I can get it. Overall, it was not that bad of a process but after the first coat, the bottom of it did look like Ehren. I touched it twice and found this process to be rather forgiving.

I did up a video on the bushing replacement, just search it on the tube….but if you slap in a 2” bodylift, it’s even easier!

haha, I’ve probably watched it at least 3x in the last year, the parts are sitting in my garage too… just have to find a friend with a hydraulic press and some free time

Scratch that. On my 15 minute drive to work today, I saw 3 Toyotas with poorly-executed Raptor lights and one was a 1st Gen 4Runner which looked awful. I'm out. HA!

I have 4 of those lights in my new Alpha garage grille, one burnt out almost immediately and now it looks a person who is missing a front tooth.
