New Member Here... First and foremost I love this forum! Its such a great resource for info.

So new to me 04 LX470 with right at 150k miles on it. So far I have
-replaced A/C compressor... still hunting a small leak
- replaced all the door speakers and subs( DS18 in the doors and Skar 6.5 in rear
- added one of those 10in displays above factory radio to get my android auto ( cheap route for now)
- replaced all the interior lights from user @FullyLitLED (nice being able to see inside vehicle in dark now)
- replaced window door mouldings
- added window rain deflectors
- ripped out the back carpet and sound deadening material and the third row seats and associated bracket including seatbelts. Installed new sound deadening and plan to add vinyl/rubber flooring
- last but not least changed the oil

Got a few more thing i want to do but good enough for a new daily driver

Ooooo...Mister Fancy Pants with his 5spd. - Just Kidding! Welcome!:beer:

My relay wiring has always been tidy but I took some time today and labeled everything neatly for giggles--the relays themselves and my Blue Sea Systems marine fuse block.

Are you a pilot? Mine has labels, not as nice as yours though. 22,000 hours here ATP and A&P, IA

Got the Dobinson UCA’s installed, next stop is the alignment shop. Thanks for the tech assistance Jason @TRAIL TAILOR View attachment 3703674
Let me know how it went. I initially had some issues with the right alignment, but I think reason was that I wasn't high enough up front. Based on Dobinson's statement hub/ fender should be 21.75". And once you're too low they can't align.

I recently installed my front bumper and winch. Now with the right weight on I have to readjust the height and will give it a shot again.

Snagged some Tundra alloys with worn 275/65R18 Ridge Grapplers. Gonna run these for a while until I can get a 5th alloy (have a 275/65R18 Defender on a steelie as a spare for now). Eventually I want to run 275/70R18 KO3s (or similar).

Size comparison next to a 275/70R16 Crugen HT (the new wheel is against the side of the truck but I'm only ~15' away and zoomed in so there's a bit of forced perspective, and of course the installed wheel is loaded and at 32 psi ... So what I'm saying is this is a perfect picture for Instagram 😅)

I'm also going to look into raising the spare bracket a bit. I'm sure there's a dozen threads around for me to reference. I'm also sure I'm going to be breaking a lot of rusty bolts doing it.

Just recently got my newly acquired 2004 back from my mechanic:
Steering rack replaced
CV boots replaced
wheel bearings replaced
replaced a couple of seeping gaskets
fixed the aftermarket side mirror turn signals
oil change
brake and coolant fluid flush

I also ordered some new center caps

Looking good! Now just need to get rid of my '99

Did the rear sway bar end links and sway bar bushings… had to do the bushings twice since I ordered front and back and the packages don’t say which is which. Oh well, at least process of elimination will make the front easier.

Beyond pissed right now.

Left for my vacation Friday evening in the 100... After 4 hours of driving, we stealth camped in a small town in middle of nowhere to get some food, drinks, rest. The next morning we drove another 3 hours to the destination just for the brake booster alarm to go off the f***** minute I put her in park at the bank of the lake we were planning to camp at.

Middle of nowhere, 7 hours from home, LUCKILY with faint reception, I did some quick troubleshooting and decided the best course of plan was to limp home, alarm blaring, brake booster screeching for an entire hour before randomly going silent and being perfectly fine.

Never lost brake functions at all, no loss of fluid from the reservoir.

PERFECT weather, destination we (myself and wife) had been planning YEARS to visit, wasted. Now I am at home on the couch grumpy AF. FML.

I feel your pain man - this is the reality of 24 year old trucks. You could go around the world wihtout encountering any issues or sometimes you will have the experience you had this weekend. Brake booster failure is one of my biggest fears about this truck, on my previous truck I replaced it as preventative maintenance because I usually have kids with me and having no brakes could have severe consequences.

Don't blame you. I got lucky. Mine went out the day after we were off road for a few days and drove a fully loaded vehicle down the west side of I80 going 80 followed by a couple heavy laden semis.

I hate to think what would have happened if it had gone out that day.

Listed it for sale on IH8MUD........

To be honest, over the 400 miles of driving I did to get home, I only used the brakes a handful of times and this was a path that involved going over mountains.

Just turn the o/d off and third gear acts like an exhaust brake.

What are you using for a switch panel? Install looks great under the hood!
Standard Toyota switches. I've got a new 2-accessory switch coming from CH4x4 to make some more space for future expansion.
