Power is useless without control.
Also the front wears faster because of the weight of the drivetrain over them and the fact that it steers and has power going to it.
That's just false my friend. Rear tires are critical to keep you going in the right direction, even in the FWD cars, let alone the 4wd/AWD setups.
This is a common misconception that fronts should get the best tread when you can only replace two tires.
Here is one reference I found in my quick search but please do your own research and share any reliable sources that claim that the fronts should get new tires instead of rear.

I stand corrected, thank you!

Once I sorted the crank-but-no-start issue, I started the next project on the list: add sound insulation to the floor. Interior came out easy and there were no surprises (no unwanted holes etc.). I am pleasantly surprised that the floor already has a lot of asphalt type layer applied. Is there any benefit to adding my own layer of butyl sound deadener on top of this?

Looking good! When I had my interior pulled apart I decided against adding any additional butyl sound deadener to the floor as it seemed pretty well covered. I did just pickup a bunch of MLV and some CCF that I might go back and add everywhere.

Can you point me to your post abt that - always good to follow in the steps of your predecessors!

This is pure speculation here:
I am not sure about the aversion to putting down butyl or any of the sound-dampening products. We are not running race cars here so weight surely cannot be of any concern. And lastly, in the worst-case scenario should 110% of the deadener fail to keep out sound, there is always the lovely side effect of keeping excess heat out of the climate-controlled areas. I cannot even begin to consider myself to have any understanding of the ladies that would even consider associating with us, but I do know if you keep them from getting too warm they are in fact less volatile or dangerous. Kind of like avoiding feeding Gremlins after midnight you avoid destroying society or civilization by keeping them cool. Everyone wins at life. 🤷‍♂️

I checked your content for the "more on that later" for the Diode Dynamic Fogs. I'm planning to do the same thing and don't really want to spring for the slee inserts. How did yours mount up?
I hate to admit this, but they are still in the back of my cruiser waiting for me to remember to install them.

I found one other member in the same boat, or at least posting about it. He sent me this link to Paranoid Fab. A much cheaper option than the Slee inserts if you don't have the means to fab some up yourself. Price is reasonable. No disrespect to Slee. I'm sure they are nice. I just don't live in the world of unlimited $.

Good thing you didn't buy a Land Cruiser 🤣

A few easy ones were checked off the list today. New cabin filters, new 255/85/16 Yokohama pizza cutters, new OEM globes for the AHC as well as new pink fluid. Who doesn't love pink fluid? None of my old globes were bad, but I only had 4 to 5 ticks. Now, I'm at 12 plus ticks. Everything bled fine and I only had to use the one 2.5L can.

I did the full rear. In hindsight, just do the wheel wells and the outer layer of metal and you'll be good.

That is exactly what i was looking for originally! I would get those over the slee for sure. Slees are just to expensive IMO

Replaced the fuse block (82720-60023) and the fusible link (82620-60010) in an effort to cure the crank but no start issue. That still didn't solve the issue! Then noticed the EFI relay is getting warm after a couple of longer cranks. Tapped on it a couple of times and wham! the truck started. Now I am looking for a replacement EFI relay (still looking for the part number!). Hopefully that will fix this issue for good.

You should've shown the SPAGHETTI Central, Where these puppies Came From inside the firewall....it looks so 'orderly' (& Deceivingly SIMPLE) from the top side!

2006 Lexus LX470.

Can’t deny the elegance the LX470 brings to the automotive world.

Our good friend Adam (@sammybones) trusted the family vehicle to Tampa Cruisers, to undergo a major maintenance session; a slipping transmission rebuilt, CV axles, steering rack, Radiator, tie rod ends, full brake overhaul and one of our favorite services, undercarriage and wheel-wells restoration.
She’s feels like is 2006 again.
Good old times.

Manny @ Tampa Cruisers.

Absolutely perfect! My local LC club's (DixieLand Cruisers) monthly meeting/get-together was yesterday evening and after some discussion, I've decided to try the paranoid option (lol). If everything works and looks as it should, I'll return the Slee brackets. The reason for this decision is because the Slee brackets require drilling several holes into the ARB bumper and screwing this whole apparatus into the bumper. And $30 is way more economically feasible than $235. IMHO

does the police scanner require any drilling? :D
