How's that? New rack. The price tag sucks but I just can't do this myself at the moment. When I got back to pick mine up I found my old parts in the dumpster. The rack sure looked beat up but it was deeper than I wanted to go. Picked up the a arm, the bearing seemed maybe loose but really didn't seem too bad.

Garth, did you just tape them off and do it? Did you clear coat them too? Rattle can? Thanks!

Taped them off, sanded, painted and cleared with Duplicolor exact match from O' Rielly's.

Found a can of Toyota Antique Sage Pearl (40th Anniversary color, used to own one) by Duplicolor...thought about doing the whole truck in it!

Never cared for white Cruisers, but I think color-coded bumpers and trim give it an updated look. I wish the bumpers were white and Slee, though.

Received my ARB Bull Bar and installed Warn VR12000.
Received a skid of goodies from Slee:
Slee rear bumper
Slee step sliders
2.5" Heavy suspension kit with diff drop and SPC UCA's
Mark's speedo conversion box
Factor 55 Flat Link
Now the fun begins!

Also discovered a steady leak where my new RH axle shaft was installed at the differential carrier. Mechanic says the diff carrier is damaged and that it's not the seal. He's re-installed it twice. Hmmm? Comments?

Pics of the bull bar and parts skid are attached. More to come. 014.JPG 030 (2).JPG 026.JPG 029 (3).JPG Slee skid.jpg

Gave my new truck the full Zaino treatment with 3 coats of Z2 with ZFX after claybar.
POR 15'd the main frame rail areas among other spots for the extra protection though I have barely any surface rust to begin with but hey more protection is better than none.

Welcome to the 100-series Daniel !

Brevity, your spare tire is mounted upside down.
Oh yeah, actually this is a cool tip. If you mount the spare face down like I did, you can check the pressure or air up the spare without removing it from the truck :) Honestly I didn't know it was supposed to go the other way, but having the schrader valve available seems like the way to go.

I've been driving the LX, I ordered in a slide hammer and puller kit because the speed sensor won't come out of the tcase. I would like to fix the speedo this week. Then figure out what all the noise is from, I suspect that there are worn bushings on the rear suspension. The rattling is more quiet under braking...

I guess checking the pressure is a notable advantage. But the disadvantages are scratching the wheel face on rocks and road/salt spray destroying the finish. Not a big deal for some. The wheel is slightly more secure facing up too as the cable length will be shorter when cinched up.

That could be brake pads rattling too

Finally replaced my heater tee's at 126k miles. Hot side one was super brittle and broke apart upon removal.

Just spent $3169.00 on it. :(

ARB locking front diff
New Ring and Pinion (blew old one)
New ball joints both sides (Christo said they were toast...and I believe him)

I will now push my Land Cruiser home...to save gas. :-/

There are years I love my truck......there are days I want to give it away.

I'll take it!

How much of the total was parts/ labor for the ball joints? I need to get mine replaced and a ballpark figure would be great to ensure my shop is fair. Thanks!

Love your rig, so does the wife. Looking for her now. Did you remove the AHC or is it just set at high in the pic?

Hey thanks. I like it too. Oddly enough, my wife gave unsolicited approval on how it looked with the new Slee steel on the front end. Never thought I'd hear that. I've also never spent this much effort keeping a car clean and shiny, but then I've never had one that looked so clean and shiny.
AHC is gone.
Sensors and some of the wire harness are all that's left on the truck.

Nice, thanks. Wife gave a big oooooh when I showed her. She's a Cruiser fan so I'm in heaven. She loves my 80 and would more than happily drive one if it had rear air. Again very cool LX. Might hit you up for questions if we end up with one.

oil change, all diffs and transfer case fluid change, cv boots changed, new larger alternator, driver's door hinge fixed, one 285/75/16 BFG Mudterrain plus refurb wheel for new rear bumper mount, Power tank plus mount and Rotopax gas and water for rear tire mounting. Hopefully next week the sliders and Slee rear bumper will be installed

It was somewhere in the $620 range parts and labor. Mine were seized on one side and completely loose on the other. And they made a nasty noise when turning...
