My new TOYOTA front drive shafts arrived from oempartsource.com. Unfortunately the dust collar (?) on one of the joints is pretty disfigured.

I’m assuming this isn’t acceptable and something I should take up with the seller.

Each drive shaft was in its own box and both were placed in a larger box. However there was no padding at all and each one had punched through the end of its own box and one even punched through the outer box. No apparent damage to the splines though.

Worth noting: this is my second purchase with them and both times they’ve insufficiently packed the items and stuff got banged around.

Ohio via FedEx. I have an email into OEMpartsource.com and am awaiting a resolution.

Most are going to come that way. Honestly just bend it back out with a pair of needle-nose pliers and send it.

Interesting! I wasn't sure if it was going to cause any issues down the road such as introducing dirt/debris in prematurely. No way I'll be able to bend it to be perfectly round again and I really don't want to have to tear this thing apart more than once :D

Had a slightly busy weekend with the cruiser. I got the Huracan tailgate storage installed. I opted to cut the center support for more storage. I also extended the rear diff breather. The front, I’ll do when I replace the steering rack in a few weeks.

The diff breather hose was 1/4” fuel line. I routed it through the factory breather mount up to the fuel filler neck. Ran it up the neck and, tied in a universal fuel filter to keep debris out, before feeding it out into the fuel fill door cavity.

I keep scrolling past this and your helper has made me smile quite a few times this week. Miss mine being that age. Good job involving him in your stuff, dad.

Finished the coastal front bumper finally...overall a really good kit. Will probably order their rear bumper and sliders soon. Also finished the Ironman lift and started tearing the entire front end apart to replace EVERYTHING. Hustling to try and get some camping in this spring.

Great looking bumper. How much welding experience do you think would be useful/ necessary here, or is it simple enough that a relative beginner could get it done? It looks straightforward, as long as you square everything up, tack it well, and then watch the heat so it stays straight/ square. Anything else to note?

Thanks. If you can lay down a bead that you know will hold, then it's pretty straightforward. If you can grab a helper, it makes things so much easier. When I was lining up the panels, I did it in a way where I ended up with fillet welds on most of it, not butt welds. If you get the kit, you'll see what I mean.

What took the longest was coping/notching the outer bars to the grille bar. I TIG welded it, which saved drastically on grinding time, but ideally you'd just MIG it.

Get some 40 and 80 grit flap discs, they're your best friend when doing this. It's a very well thought out kit and I'll definitely be buying more of their stuff. The only thing I didn't like is there isn't winch clutch access if you get the light bar cutout. I drilled a hole in the front and have an adapter that uses a 3/8 extension to turn the winch clutch so I can get access it without the hood open.

You can use your old ones to if theyr're in better shape.

Almost have all the parts I need to add a pressure switch to my onboard air compressor.

And this little gem came in after a few weeks of waiting. Best impulse purchase ever.

Finally got all the parts to rework the center Console/Gear Shift area. Fitted the Tekonsha Primus® IQ Trailer Brake Controller in the ashtray space, replaced the Shifter knob and Shift position (PNRD) indicator, added the Cover (Small Phone Tray) Console Box and (finally!) removed the plastic faux wood.

Replaced the 2 broken Air Outlet Grilles above the B-Pillars. They turned out to be as rare as rocking horse droppings but, eventually Amayama came through with one from UAE and the other from Japan. (no pics)

Decided I didn't like the look of the 23 year old fuse box label so, I copied the design and had a new label made. While under the hood I added the wiring & breakers for the Trailer Brake Controller.

Received the new Vanity plate but don't like it. There isnt enough contrast between the "C" and the "1" characters and the background, to be readable at a distance. Since there isn't much point in having a vanity plate that cannot be read I have ordered another with a different background which hopefully will be more readable.
